The Days Have went away when we used to fill the overhead tanks with colors and enjoyed seeing colors flowing from through Taps at Their Home.

The Days Have Passed when we used to throw Water Balloons at Anyone Going Outside our Home.

The Days Have Passed Today we Are facing a Lot of Water Shortage In Our So called City Of Lakes – Udaipur. The Lakes Have dried up ‘We are Running Short of Water’.

Can we imagine now to waste gallons of Water to Play Holi? Wont we be called Criminals.

Traditions Changes , Culture Changes, Friends Changes – Cant We Change This Time?? Why cant we all stand together , and put a firm foot forward and oppose Wet HOLI CELEBRATIONS. In Times When Our Lakes Have dried Up and Have converted to Muddy Pits. The time When We are Facing Water Shortage. Why cant We celebrate this Holi in a Whole new Way as we Never Did Before.

But getting ready to Play ‘Dry Holi’ is not confining ourself to Play with ‘Gulal’ Throwing it on others.   It is to leave all those Practices and move to a bit more practical Means – That is Adopting the Measure to Play ‘Dry Holi’.

No doubt we can save a lot of water playing dry Holi; but what about the clothes we would spoil with colors;  wont we waste so much water trying to rinse them? It was like, doing all the hard work to get to the top, and then jumping off the very last step!

This time the things are even worse we cant even Manage to Play ‘Dry Holi’. Let us this time celebrate – ‘Tilak Holi’ – Let us greet all our friends, families with colored ‘Tilak’ . Let Us all Be a responsible Citizens and Show the World – ‘WE CARE’

Chittorgarh District

Chittorgarh (also known as Chittor) is a city. It lies on the Berach River, a tributary of the Banas, a former capital of the Sisodia clans of Rajput and of Mewar. The district has an area of 10,856 km².The district is disjunct, divided into a larger western portion and a smaller eastern  portion by Neemuch District of Madhya Pradesh. The western portion is bounded by Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Ratlam districts of Madhya Pradesh to the east, and the Rajasthan districts of Banswara to the south, Udaipur and Rajsamand to the east, and Bhilwara to the north. The eastern portion is bounded by Bhilwara, Bundi, and Kota districts of Rajasthan to the north and Neemuch District of Madhya Pradesh to the south and west.

There are good bus services (Private as well as government) available for Delhi, Mumbai, Ahemdabad, Ajmer,Bundi, Kota, Udaipur and other major cities.

The distance of bus stand from major hotels is around 0.1 Km to 2 Km. Fort of Chittorgarh is around 2 Km and train station is around 2 Km.

By Rail:

Chittorgarh railway station is a junction of western indian railways. It has rail links with Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Udaipur,Jaipur, Kota and Delhi.

Trespassing/Atikraman Problem

In the Venice of east the thing which hurts people is the mess on the roads.  The extended shops on the roads add up to the problems of already existing huge traffic. The condition becomes worse when we land in the core city. This mess is basically due to improper parking of vehicles and due to the extension of the shops by keeping the stock across the limit by the shopkeepers. The common areas having this problem are Dhanmandi at Delhi gate, Ashvini market at Hathipole, Bapu bazaar, and Surajpole.

Municipality is working out to solve this problem by removing the muddle but the condition becomes the same after 2-3 days. The leader of municipality Ms. Rajni Dangi took a round to the interior city to know the condition. She declared it a serious problem and warned the traders not to keep their stock across the limit. She said that if they are found doing so severe action would be taken against them. This problem is massive in the areas like dhanmandi, Maldas Street. Traders in the internal areas keep their stock in such a way that people find it very difficult to drive which increases traffic jams.

Yet the traders continue doing the similar. Cooperation of the traders and the common people is must to work out this problem. Resolving this trouble will be big development of the city traffic control and increase the beauty of our place. Its our humble request to people that they park their vehicles inside the boundary line and to the traders that they keep their stock within the limit this will help in development of our city and will make our place a better place.

With the increase in pollution all around we need to be more careful towards our environment. In Udaipur, the pollution is increasing swiftly which is a great concern for us. The number of vehicles, the electricity consumption and emission of greenhouse gases by the factories is increasing day by day hence increasing the carbon footprints of every individual. Deforestation and wastage of water is reaching on the peek. Waste from houses is dumped into rivers and lakes which not only pollute the surroundings but it also distort the scenic beauty. We all are in need to show some more interest in escalating foliage in our place. Taking small initiatives by every individual will be greatly effective in protecting our environment. Few ways by which we can make the environment of Udaipur or the whole world rather are:

Recycling:

The common things we can recycle are

  • Aluminum cans
  • Newspapers
  • Steel containers
  • Glass
  • Plastic materials and many more.
  • Changing habits in kitchen: utilize reusable containers for food storage as a substitute of wrapping food in foil or plastic wrap. You can also use unbleached coffee filters, which does not produce the fatal toxin dioxin in its manufacturing. Use rags to clean up spills instead of paper towels, and use biodegradable things.
  • Use cloth bag instead of plastic bags: Plastic bags are non biodegradable even if they say they are they do not decompose totally. Also the ink is made up of cadmium, and is highly toxic when it is released. Whereas paper bags are reusable and biodegradable. However supermarkets use paper that has never been recycled before and they always say “recyclable” not “recycled”. Here is what you can do: if your purchase is small don’t take any bag, this alone could save hundreds of millions of bags. Bring a cloth bag when you shop.
  • Compost: Return your organic waste where it belongs: the soil! Rather than sending banana peels, grass clipping, etc. to the municipal dump, start a compost pile instead. Compost also makes your plants stronger and healthier, reducing the need for fertilizers and chemical pesticides. Don’t forget that many cities have municipal composting programs for your yard waste.

 

These few things will help to clean our city and will make it more beautiful.

Udaipur History

Udaipur’s history began with the construction of the Nouchouki palace on the banks of a pond dug by a gypsy in the 15th century. Udai Singh extended this pond and dug a massive manmade lake and christened it Pichola after a tiny village Picholi, located close by.

A suryavanshi and a descendant of the Sisodia Rajputs who are the oldest ruling family in the world with a traceable history of over 26 generations, Maharana Udai Singh created a dream city that is an oasis with lakes, wildlife, flora and fauna in the midst of desert Rajasthan.

According to common legend the city of lakes or Udaipur was established by Maharana Udai Singhji after he was advised by a hermit to do so. It is believed that Udai Singhji was on one of his hunting tours when he had an encounter with a meditating hermit on the banks of the Lake Pichola who inspired him to establish the city of Udaipur in the midst of a valley surrounded by the Aravali hills and ornamented with three massive lakes. The royal Sisodia’s reigned supreme in Udaipur that became the capital city of the state of Mewar after the fall of Chittorgarh. Sisodia’s are believed to be the oldest ruling family in Rajasthan and can trace their lineage for more than 67 generations.

Udaipur is quite like a fairy tale destination with its pure marble forts and palaces, lakes, pavilions and gardens. A favorite haunt with newly weds, Udaipur is soaked in a dreamy romantic mist that is full of sweet promises.

The land of the brave Rana Pratap and Rana Sanga, Udaipur has seen many a battle that was fought for the valor and pride of the proud Sisodia Rajputs. Several women from the royal house of Mewar were married of to Mughal rulers for promoting political relations.


After the death of Udai Singh, his valiant son Maharana Pratap took over the royal throne and was engaged in constant power skirmishes with the Mughals with an aim to recapture the erstwhile capital of Mewar, Chittor.

A landmark in the history of Udaipur, the fierce battle of Haldighati was fought in between Akbar and Maharana Pratap. Till date you can see a delightful shrine that was constructed in the memory of Chetak, Maharana Pratap’s beloved horse, who in spite of suffering fatal injuries had brought its master to safety from the battlefield.
