Memories of Panache’12 – Singhania University Annual Fest

Panache’2012 – ‘Iconoclastic Sixties’ is an Annual Techno-Cultural Festival of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur, celebrating the underlining nature of all human activities. That is the passion to improvise, the desire to excel which drives us all towards brilliance and distinction.

Panache is all about such Moments! It encapsulates within itself a series of conferences, world meets, workshops, technical competitions, presentations, exhibitions, cultural programs and much more.

The 4-day extravaganza started with a Inauguration ceremony by Her excellency, Governor of Gujarat, Dr. Kamla Beniwal. Starting with a Conference on VLSI and Embedded Systems, Cloud Computing and Mobile Technology followed by Management Conclave proved to be very enriching for students. Then a Classical Dance Performance by Rajesh Sharma and Group and a play ‘Ekla Chalo Re’ performed by ‘The Performers’ written by Dr Laique Hussain and directed by Anukampa Laique, based on the biography of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore were enjoyed by the Audience.

As a part of its Social responsibility, it organized a Blood Donation drive by the Students and Faculty Members of SPSU. Various Events like Prop-Opp Parliamentary Debate, Speech Competition, Debate Competition proved to be a gamut of challenge. We also experiencd art in its most beautiful form through an Eye catching Painting Exhibition by artish Kamal Sharma.

We also witnessed a sense of ecstasy and hilarity in many informal Events like Salad Decoration Competition, Monochromatic Painting Competition, Slate-Creative Writing Competition, Paper Dance and much more. A sudden Flash Mob by final year Students left everyone astonished. We also enjoyed mouth watering dishes and Delicious icecreams at Food Fair from Happinezz’, ‘Chef’s Venture Fast-food Joint’ and The University Canteen.

The day ends with Cultural nights having sensational dance performances and Hysterical ever-rocking Band nights by Rudraksh, Evergreen and Parikrama Rock bands.

The 4 day adventurous journey of Panache Fest ended with a valedictory Function addressed by Dr. Girija Vyas, Member of Parliament, with a lot of reminiscences.

Indeed the experience at Panache’12 is one of those ecstatic Eureka moments which the students would cherish forever. With more events and bigger prizes than ever before, Panache 2012 was truly an extravaganza. 🙂

Panache’12 : Annual Tech Fest of Singhania University, Udaipur

The packed house at Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur will soon be reverberated with roars, whistles and thunderous ovations as the curtains will rise for Panache ’12, SPSU’s annual fest, to celebrate student Innovation, Creativity and Leadership. Panache’12 is scheduled for January 11th – 14th, 2012 in Udaipur.

The theme for Panache 2012 is ‘Iconoclastic Sixties’an era that saw the uproar of counterculture movement in the USA.It was this time when fields of music, dance and other forms of arts went through radical changes all over the world and gave us timeless luminaries like Pink Floyd, Elvis Presley. Panache’12 celebrates the contribution of such personalities through their lineup of events. There is something for everyone – a fun fair, music competition, dance, debate, speech, painting competition, conferences, workshops, rock concert and the chance to be part of history in the making – a Limca Record attempt.

Panache’ 12 Specials Include :

  • Blood Donation Camp:

Panache 2012 kicks off with the noblest of causes. Team Panache 2012 in association with R N T Medical Hospital, is organizing a Blood Donation Camp on January 10th, 2012.

  • World Record Attempt:

Ever thought of seeing your name in the Limca Book of Records? Panache’ 12  give you this grand stage to join it in creating history.  Panache’ 12 will attempt to set a Limca Record for the largest gathering of people wearing two different types of shoes at the same time.

  • Exhibition by Kamal Sharma:

A versatile artist beyond the confines of any particular style or school of Painting.Born in Udaipur, Kamal Sharma is a Post Graduate in Drawing & Painting from MLSU  Udaipur. He has participated in several National & International exhibitions.

Noteworthy among them are:

    • 28th National Art Exhibition (Lalit Kala Akademy) 1987
    • 4th International Design Competition organised by Japan Design Foundation,Osaka,1989
    • West Zone Cultural Center,1991
    • 4th All India Poster Competition organised by SYPM, New Delhi, 1992.

Mr. Sharma has received several prestigious awards for his contribution to fine arts. Significant among them are:

  • University Color in Fine Arts,1987
  • Gold Medal by the University of Bombay,1987
  • Maharana Mewar Foundation Award,1998 & 1993
  • 1st Prize in All India Poster Competition organised by the Ministry of Environment & Forests,1993
  • 1st Prize in All India Environment Painting Competition organised by Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademy,1995
  • 1st Prize in National Competition organised by NCERT, New Delhi,1995
  • Merit Certificate in International Poster Contest – 96 organised by NCERT-UNFPA.

 

  • Rock Concert :

The major attraction this year would be a Rock Concert by the  Parikrama Band.

The Schedule is as per follows :

Day 1:
Inauguration of the Fest by Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat. Conference on VLSI and Embedded Systems.Followed by a Debate Competition, Inauguration of the Fest Fun Fair,Painting Exhibition by Artist Kamal Sharma; Slate, the Creative Writing Competition and Gangs of Ghetto, a Street Dance Competition.

Day 2:
Conference on Cloud Computing and Mobile Technology followed by Management Conclave; Workshop on Designer Tools; Sir Padampat Singhania University Speech Competition; Prop Opp, a mock Parliamentary Debate Competition; Infostorm, a Quiz Competition; Rock Concert by Evergreen band and Woodstock, War of Bands.

Day 3:
Workshop on Computer Networking; Limca World Record attempt; Rock Concert by Parikrama band; Ban the Bomb, a Dance for a cause.

Day 4:
Dr. Girija Vyas, Member of Parliament is expected to be the Chief Guest, while Gajendra Singh Shaktawat, MLA is expected to grace the occasion as the Guest of Honor.

Panache ’12 is expected to be four day adventurous journey of exploring oneself and view the technological advancements around the globe.
