Candles of Peace and Tribute Lightened by The Yuvaz

Mumbai was once again victim of terror this 13th of July 2011, when in the evening Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar areas were hit by powerful explosions. Many lives taken, many more threatened.

To condemn this inhuman act and to pay tribute to the souls that have suffered due to the evil act, a social youth group from Udaipur, The Yuvaz held a candle march yesterday evening at Fatehsagar.

At around 5:30 in the evening, a fairly good crowd was present for the noble cause. Udaipur’s singing talent Shahnawaz aka Bunty (X-Factor fame) also joined the Candle March in the memory of victims of recent serial bomb blasts.

We pray for the peace of the departed souls, and wish for peace, harmony and happiness in the minds of the victims and threatened, and fear and terror in the minds of terrorists themselves.

Here are a Few more pictures of the Candle March:

RTU 2nd Semester students appeared for Re-examination

The joy of the last day of exams is a much thrilling experience, when finally the stress of the exams and long hours of studies are over, finally a breakpoint is achieved, and everybody has new plans for the forecoming vacations. But unfortunately due to some anti-social activities by few mischievous persons, the happiness came to an end.

The mathematics examination paper of RTU(Rajasthan Technical University) 2nd semester (B.Tech) was leaked the day before the original exam date, i-e 4th July. As a result, a re-examination for all 2nd semester students of the same subject was held today, the 12th of July.

The paper was comparable to the previous paper that leaked in terms of hardness, but since the students could get a longer span of time for preparations of the exams, hence they could attempt it well. We wish all these students all the very best for their results, and hope that they do not have to appear for another re-examination. and of course, Happy Vacations 🙂

The entire starcast of the upcoming bollywood movie, Zindagi Na milegi Dobara was here in Udaipur on 8 July, 2011 late night at about 10.00 p.m. They arrived from Ahmedabad in their black land rover, and stayed at hotel Shikarbadi for the night. But to add to the disappointment of all the udaipies, the starcast, consisting of Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akhtar didn’t make any public appearance in our own Udaipur. The entire crew is currently travelling from Mumbai to Delhi all on road, and in this series, they headed for Jaipur this afternoon. There were a few unofficial predictions of them either visiting the celebration mall or the Fateh Sagar, but seems like the plans were changed, maybe due to the rain pouring in udaipur right from today morning.

Here are a few glimpses of our own stars in our own city by fans and official page of ZNMD 🙂

Blessings of the Rain: A Relief from the Sun

One fine Monday morning. Everyone on their routine business. No one could ever imagine that by the evening, intense clouds would be covering up the entire heated up sky. It was about 6 p.m. when the almighty was a bit merciful on the climate of Udaipur and showered his blessings on us in form of rains, beginning with small showers to continuous rain for more than an hour, followed by strong winds and thunders in the sky. Here are few photos showing few of the scenes of the city of Lakes enjoying the first rains in the burning summer. This rain can be a signal for good hope in the coming monsoon season of Udaipur, lets hope we can see Fatehsagar Overflowing again in 2011.

However, few exterior parts of the city faced power cuts which spoilt the mood of both the public and RSEB workers. Reportedly, power supply in few areas was restarted about near midnight, and few areas are still waiting in candle light for the electricity, as assured will be supplied the next morning.
