[Pictures] Sky Full of Lighters…. @ Fatehsagar

sky full of lighters

What a lovely hour it was!! Totally majestic, beauteous and perfectly magical!! It was a breathtakingly fantabulous moment to watch more than 100 lanterns going higher and higher in the sky and then disappearing all of a sudden. Clusters of these lighters flying above cherished the entire sky with the warmth of happiness and love.

This was a special effort made by the youth of Udaipur for encouraging an eco friendly Diwali among all the Udaipurites. An event organized by UdaipurBlog.com & Astronomia Shoppe came out to be a great success and was totally worth it.

The environment was filled with the air of mixed emotions and made everyone delightful. Lots of people came by and enthusiastically participated to float the lighters in the blues of heaven.

Everyone’s eyes were resting on the sky to see the lanterns going on and on and on till they fade away. The event started at about 6:30 pm and continued smoothly and superbly for an hour.

A bunch of happy souls interestingly taking part in the event made the environment absolutely refreshing and lively.

The event with its freshness and uniqueness became a memorable one in every individual’s heart and will be enshrined forever.

For those who missed it, I must say you missed something really fascinating. But again, abiding by our duty to provide you every interesting update of Udaipur, here we present the photographs, by the readers of UB and supporters of events.  🙂

C2Cconnect: Pledged to make an ‘Educated’ student ‘Employable’

Engineers!! Invariably, the most demanding and the most required individual in the field of technology. From several years, these curious and ambitious minds have played a huge role in building the present world’s infrastructure.

Various companies beholding distinct aspirations search for engineers who can fulfill their requirements and skills. But due to the deteriorating level of education day by day, quality engineers are not being produced which could now meet the proficiency of the companies recruiting them.

According to a national survey, a shocking fact has come upon showing that only 17.45% of all the engineers are in a state of getting employed.

Thus, taking an initiative, “ C2C CONNECT” , an Udaipur based Consultancy cum Educational Firm has taken the responsibility to enlighten the techies with their guidance and knowledge and provide these graduates (or pursuers) with an environment for grooming their overall skills. All these elements will help them a lot in boosting their moral and confidence for various rounds in companies and easily grab the offers by creating a very good impact in the minds of the recruiters.

jobs | UdaipurBlog.com

Now, with a discussion based with the minds behind this startup, continuing with what this company is all about.

Motive behind the startup: The Principle Objective of C2C Connect is to deal with the problem of employability and onboard orientation among engineers. Started by two experts from IT industry with more than 6-7 years of corporate experience they are the perfect guides to shape one’s career in the right direction.

The challenge for Engineering graduate is to get hired before they pass out form college. There are many colleges where students do not get chance to appear for placement. In case company visits the campus, Student miss the life time opportunity because they are not equipped with skills which company is seeking.

The challenge for a company is to recruit a right fresher. After getting short listed, the finalized candidates have to go through a training session of at least 6-12 months for their orientation as required by the company. Thus, companies have to spend lots of money and time in this process to meet the pressure of competitiveness in market.

C2C Connect is solving problem for both, student by inculcating right skills then placing and companies in hiring right fresher which helps them is saving cost and accelerating their business.

A future prospect of C2C is to establish its services in Northern parts of India and finally covering all the remaining regions .

Methodology: The Company’s Focus is on the issues of techies regarding employability and really wants that all the students should start working on their skills from the first year itself rather than waiting and doing it in the 11 th hour of the last year.

Thus, for the well being of the students, the entire C2C program has been divided into three parts:

  1. Getting ready for entire selection procedure

  2. Industry exposure

  3. Recruitment

I t is certain that each and every company has its own selection criteria for choosing a promising candidate for their company. So, various rounds or tests have to be cleared by the seekers to occupy a position in the company. These basically include:

  • Aptitude Test

  • Technical Test

  • English Writing Test

  • Group Discussion

  • Technical Interview

  • HR Interview

Every section is a knock out round. So, if you are good in any one of the areas and not good in the others then you miss the chance of getting into your dream job.

C2Cconnect accommodates the students with both online and offline services. In the online system, profile of each student is created. On enrollment, pre assessment test of each student is taken and the student is parameterized on the basis of the all the above tests. Finally, score obtained by the individuals is attached with their profile and based on the score card their areas of weaknesses are focused upon and groomed.

For aptitude, technical and English tests are conducted online. For GD, Technical interview and HR interview, mock GD-PI’s are taken by the company’s expert panel. After each assessment, scores of the students are updated in their profile so that they can check their progress regularly and find in which areas they are weak or strong.

These are ordained in a series of mock tests to help the students to become confident and self reliant.

The company directs the students to work in live projects with their sister concern company Siddhiwebs. Enjoy the World Tourism Day at Udaipur

world tourism day at udaipur

Today it’s World Tourism Day; an exceptionally important day for tourism in the entire world.

India places itself in the top visited countries by the tourists, thus, Tourism day is momentous to the country. India has for long been a sightseer’s paradise, that the magnificent opportunities it offers the tourists often tend to be overlooked.

The City of Lakes, Udaipur in the historically glorious state of Rajasthan stands in the list of most beautiful places in the world. It is one of the favourite tourist destinations amongst the people. Udaipur being “The Kashmir of Rajasthan” fusing a bundle of wonders in it is one of the destinations which populace of any age would love to visit.

It is the main attraction for the people to stopover and relinquish themselves in the exquisiteness and the essence of this place.

The winsomeness of this city is on its peak after the monsoons as it has overflowing lakes, an ambrosial weather and a lush green environment which also makes it a romantic destination.

A conglomeration of hotels and restaurants with their luxurious and exotic facilities for the tourists is the best part.

Here, sightseeing can be done at various places. Apart from the natural beauty, the heritage culture of Udaipur is also of great importance. Places like The City Palace, the Sajjanghar fort, Baghor ki Haweli, Jagdish Temple, Saheliyo ki Badi etc. preserve a heritage culture and are of great prestige to the people of Udaipur.

Renowned by the numerous lakes present here, some of which are Fatehsagar, Pichola, Swaroop sagar, Govardhan sagar, Udaisagar, Badi lake, Jaisamand, Bada Madaar, Chota Madaar, thus, Udaipur holds a remarkable place in its exotic beauty and culture.

tourism udaipur

Nattiness has become an important issue for the city now days. Lakes are very essential sources for water supply in Udaipur. This lake water is used by the local hoods for drinking and other household purposes.  The basic problem that is arising is related to the sanitation of the lakes. People without caring throw wastes in the water which makes the lakes filthy. This in turn pollutes the water and causes water to stink and increases mosquito breeding in it. This affects the environment to a great extent and leads to health problems in the horde.

Thus, being a tourist destination, the government along with the localites should keep an eye on the sterility of the lakes as well as the surroundings.  They should actively participate in keeping the city clean. The lakes should be regularly cleaned and fogging should be done so as to prevent any mosquito breeding in the water. Trashes should be placed at a fixed distance for proper garbaging. Hoardings for no throwing of wastes in water should be put everywhere in the surroundings of water. Strict actions should be taken against the ones who throw anything in water.

Apart from the lakes, udaipies should try to keep the city green too as the natural beauty of Udaipur has depreciated a lot in the last few years due to the infrastructural development  of the city. Planting as much trees as possible in compensation to the trees cut down for other purposes is the best and the only way to save the natural beauty. Roads should be made wider and tree plantation should be done along their sides.

Also the transport system in Udaipur needs to be paid attention. Besides the train and air services, proper conveyance facilities in the city area itself should be provided for the betterment of the city.

These primary things if kept in mind and followed by every citizen of Udaipur would help a lot in aggravating the elegance and beauty of our city and will ultimately enhance tourism in Udaipur. So, go clean and green.

Well, start contributing your share from today and enjoy the charm, soup and beauty of Udaipur. Once again Happy World Tourism Day to everyone. 🙂

Vulnerable Traffic Sense in Udaipur

Yesterday I was merrily scooting, in my car, around the city for some work.  While crossing a road, a person driving saw me doing the same but didn’t make an effort to stop his bike so as to have a safe crossing. As soon as I crossed the road, he tried to overtake from the wrong side and at that time I was also keeping left for the convenience of other people. A situation came wherein we were about to collide but just before that could happen, correcting his mistake, the person applied breaks immediately which prevented us from an uninvited accident.

Traffic in Udaipur

This incident, including few more in recent past, made me think of the traffic conditions in our city and inspired me to write something on this topic. Its unfortunate, we Udaipurites are not so keen towards the traffic system and most of us do not abide by the set rules even after having a good knowledge for them.

Taking an example; at the crossroads, most of the times people can be easily spotted breaching the Red signal before the end of traffic signal countdown. They tend to be in such a hurry that they can’t even wait for a few seconds to get the green signal. Additionally, sometimes, watching a person cross the road when the countdown is running, the common masses follow that person like a flock of sheep and together participate in breaking the laws.

Traffic in Udaipur

Traffic in Udaipur

Though, mentioning here will be considered a crime maybe, yet the way we neglect helmets while driving two wheelers, harms us only, and that too directly.

I always think that why Udaipurites are always in such a rush! Why can’t they wait patiently for a few seconds! It will not make any difference to them if they choose to wait rather than denying the safety rules, but it will certainly help the entire traffic safety system, creating a sense of responsibility in the minds of other people watching, as Indians have a common mentality of seeing and doing things.

A common mindset of people is seen that females and senior citizens should not be made to drive as they create distortion in the traffic. I, although being a girl, even sometimes feel that they really don’t have a general sense for driving because I personally have also experienced the same situation. But this can be the case with anyone. No point pinpointing a particular segment or class of ‘hoi polloi’. Then why to blame them without a reason! Today maximum youngsters, in pride of their youth and illusion of blood being pumped in them in form of disco beats rather than heartbeats, drive so roughly and irrationally, which becomes the reason for several severe accidents. They take sharp cuts, overtake in a wrong way, exceed the speed limits, and sometimes, you witness a mini stunt show on the road itself, which causes difficulty for others. To keep in mind they should at least think of the other people whom they can harm by their ruthless driving so that the next time they drive, they drive it safe and smooth. Apart from the youth this thing should be followed by each and every person.

Another point that is worth mentioning is overloading of even the two wheelers. According to the rules it is clearly mentioned that the above case is illegal and against the law. Infact it is difficult to control an overloaded 2-wheeler, with little space left for the rider to be seated, still people indulge into such act, and I don’t understand why.

For everyone who has his/her driving license, you get a rulebook from the RTO, not to pass the MCQ test, but to keep yourself aware and the rues hard-wired in your brain. My plea to everyone is that please try to follow the rules for the betterment of the traffic system.  And do drive but drive safely for the security of everyone around you, and for yourself. As it is saiddurghatna se der bhali ”.

Thanks for reading and liking it. Your views are really valuable for me.

Diesel and LPG Price Hike: India Smashed!

Again a new propaganda!!!! A country piled upto the brim with corrupt and felon ministers, conjures another economic problem aka social problem, affecting common people the most. Absolute power corrupts absolutely; this is yet again displayed by none other than our own Government & Politicians.

To device a new controversy, in order to cover the older ugly scams of “The Ministers” of India, has become a new way by the government to save themselves from the rage of the people “The Common 1’s”. (Coalgate scam)

The latest addition to the collection of bottlenecks, comes with a bash: PRICE HIKE IN DIESEL & LPG

A pure and smart strategy plotted by the Indian government on how to convert a prioritized issue (Coalgate scam) into a secondary one or even to a vanishing one, diverting it towards oblivion and forgetfulness.

Well, for sure it wouldn’t have had struck anyone that a big bang like the above would shock the whole country with its flash, diluting the other important attention seeking topics at hand. An exponential increase in the diesel price by 12% (or 5 rupees) along with a topping of 6 subsidized LPG cylinders per annum is of course a big deal. The biggest part is that these increments in the mentioned fuels will affect only and only the hoi polloi.

Diesel basically is used in industrial and agriculture purposes whereas LPG is used for household purpose. Increase in price of kerosene and cooking gas directly raise the price of meal and light to the citizens resulting in more problems for the society already grappling with price rise and poverty. Hence any increase in diesel price has a very big impact on the poorest section.

Due to the hike in diesel rates, first of all the transportation charges will take a hike, subsequently resulting in cost rise of almost all the commodities including the packaged and the non-packaged products. Secondly it increases the cost of production for farmers as this fuel is used in almost all the agricultural activities. Additionally, public transportation would also grow costlier. The entire process will add to the ever rising inflation within the country, further decreasing the value of Rupee in the International Currency Market, which would in turn boggle the economy of India for sure, resulting into an endless cycle of miseries.

Coming to the next section; 6 subsidized LPG cylinders a year!!!! How is each and every family supposed to spend a whole year with only 6 subsidized cylinders, except for dieting plans? Food is a basic necessity, which would go for a toss by this decision. Only 6 cylinders mean invitation for more nuclear families. A country with true morals and a prosperous culture is being forced to quit its morals merely for a cylinder! Is it justifying? Cooking gas price rise also hampers Government’s plan to promote the use of clean fuels for cooking in rural areas since people would not prefer costly cooking gas to other cheaper domestic alternatives (i.e. woods and uplas).

After all these changes in the diesel and LPG prices how can an Indian citizen sit quietly?

In this era of ever-growing population and technology, demand for every commodity has enhanced simultaneously. From these commodities also some day to day ones place a very important role in the society. These daily based items are of so much importance that any change in them affects human needs adversely.

Government quotes it was a risky act to raise the prices so as to cut down the problem of fiscal deficit. They also mentioned 6 no. per annum will save subsidy on one-third of the total LPG cylinders consumed, while the other two-third will still be supplied at subsidized rate. Also it will prevent misuse of the cylinders to a large extent. It will reduce the under-recovery on LPG by about Rs 5,300 crore for the remaining part of the financial year. Yet, the total under-recovery on LPG during 2012-13 is estimated to be above Rs 32,000 crore.

Well, a falling tree always tries to save its branches. Our government is trying to do the same.

The matter of fact is that every citizen should be well prepared for such adversities, to overcome them. As from this point forth, nothing will reduce but instead grow in the form of a devil.  As it is said “Karma karte jao par fal ki iccha na karo”.

For now, the sigh of relief is the news of change in the number of subsidized cylinders from a six to a ten. And the ravishing news is reduction in the prices of cars in compensation to the diesel hike (if it is 😛 ).
