A Cautionary Message to Beware of Cybercrime from Manas Trivedi of Rakshasutra Foundation

What are you supposed to do when you sit ideally at home and cannot indulge yourself with daily errands? You sit back and scroll the internet for as long as you want and use technology to its utmost capacity.

However, a lot of people are looking at technology and social media platforms as an opportunity to increase cybercrime. Cybercrime is increasing at an alarming rate, and this activity can fundamentally derail reputed financial institutions and corporates. This could result in a privacy breach of personal information as well as bring down a company’s IT system in the blink of an eye.

Rakshasutra Foundation, started by Manas Trivedi, is working vigorously to eradicate these cybercrimes and protect people and institutions from this theft. Manas is a young lad, spreading awareness about the increase of cybercrime and ways to tackle privacy breach. Cyber expert Manas started the initiative as a preventative step to fight against cybercrime. He is on the go with “Cybercrime Free Rajasthan” mission that is a training and awareness program, ongoing in various states and districts. In context to the same, Manas has offered technical tips and suggestions to Police Officers and multiple employees from all over Rajasthan. In hindsight, Manas is providing practical knowledge and insights about the prevention and detection of crimes. Under the “Cybercrime Free Rajasthan” program, novel information concerning cyberlaw has been passed on to police officers, so that they have technical knowledge about the investigation. Additionally, students in schools and colleges are instructed about the safety guidelines concerning cybercrime.

Founder of Rakshasutra, Manas Trivedi is offering technical advice related to cybercrime to the police as well as provide the latest information about the same.

Additional Director General (Police Technical Services), Sunil Dutt, has granted permission to Manas to spread awareness among the common population with the help of conducting Cybercrime Awareness Programme in 18 districts, namely Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Alwar, Bharatpur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Kota, Hanumangarh, Ganganagar, Tonk, Banswara, Dungarpur, Udaipur, Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh and Rajsamand.

Manas and his team are providing training on topics such as public awareness about cybercrime, safe and secure online banking, online sexual harassment cases, safe mobile surfing, and phone call frauds. To take it further, Manas and his team will give a PowerPoint presentation and share awareness videos among the local population in all the 18 districts.

Beware of Cybercrime

According to Manas, in the current times crimes such as creating a fake Facebook account, try to gain the sympathy of others, emptying and hacking the whole account by becoming a social media friend, and taking money from bank accounts by sharing OTP, are increasing at an alarming rate. In this situation, there is a dire need to safely learn how to use the internet properly and determine its threats by identifying fake accounts. People need to be exceptionally cautious about what to post on social media and their presence online.

Apprehensiveness and Awareness is the Only Solution!

Vigilance and awareness is the key solution to stay safe from cybercrime. During and after lockdown, cybercrime has been increased to 300 per cent. An increase in cyber financial frauds such as Paytm fraud, e-commerce fraud, SIM swapping and card cloning has also taken a hike. Moreover, cases such as cyberbullying, molestation, and ID theft have significantly risen against woman and children. It is not appreciated or wise to get lured by spam calls and fraudulent messages, also don’t share excessive information on Facebook or any other social media platform.

Manas has already launched an app for the safety of women. The young man came into prominence when he launched an application named “Rakshasutra” for women’s safety. Any woman or girl who has the application can tap on the screen twice at the time of emergency, and an alarm will ring in the police control room. Through the Rakshasutra application, police can easily trace the woman’s location and can reach there as soon as possible before things get worse. The app was further acclaimed by the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

Intejam App by Manas acclaimed regionally

Manas Trivedi also created an app named “Intejam” during the course of the election. The application helped identify the posting or duty of a particular police officer at the polling station. The police got significant help from the same since they had no confusion whatsoever on a specific officer’s posting.

Pujari Ashok Ji [Jagdish Temple]

(Names have not been changed in this summary)

Ashok ji is one of the many pujaris of Udaipur’s famous Jagdish mandir. Built by Maharana Jagat Singhji I, the construction of Jagdish mandir began in 1622 and was completed in 1652. The Maharana selected a pujari to do puja archana in the mandir, and this responsibility has been passed on from one generation of the pujari’s family to another. Today, four families, all descendants of the pujari first chosen by Maharana Jagat Singhji I, conduct puja archana in the mandir.

Following a system put in place by their ancestors, the four families take turns to do puja for one month at a time. The cycle continues throughout the year and as their ancestors arranged it, the mandir’s major festivals are distributed equally across each family’s turns in the cycle, meaning that responsibilities and opportunities to collect daana are divided equally.

In normal circumstances, considering that Jagdish mandir is the largest Vishnu mandir in North India and also a major tourist attraction, awaa gaman toh bahut hi rehta hai na, bheed toh rehti hai. Din mein 1000-1500 log toh aate hein. Hare Rama, Hare Krishna (ISKCON) people also come to the mandir and do puja according to their paddhati. They bring a lamba dholak, dance, and sing bhajans.

Holi has recently gone by. The last holi celebration in Jagdish mandir, rang pancham, happened before the lockdown and was celebrated as per custom. The tradition is to go to Eklingji on the following teras. Bhajan mandalis, many bhakts, they all go to Eklingji. Arrangements are made there for food and so on and people visit in large numbers. With rang teras in Eklingji holi ke parv samapt ho jaate hein. But this year, by teras the lockdown had already began.

Rath yatra and nirjala ekadashi are coming, they are Jagdish mandir’s biggest festivals. The rath yatra taken out from Jagdish mandir is second only to the one in Puri. This year it will fall on 23rd June. 15 days before that is nirjala ekadashi, during which people fast for 24 hours without drinking even a sip of water. It is a festival of daan punya. The administration puts up tents in Jagdish chowk, where the mandir’s steps begin, and coolers are installed for the public. People begin lining up for darshan from 5 in the morning. There is police presence for crowd control. Darshan continues until midnight. This year it is uncertain if these festivals will be celebrated. Ashok ji expects they will be cancelled.

Jagdish Manav Seva Samiti, which is associated with the mandir, runs an anna kshetra or community kitchen in an adjoining premises. They collect money through donations and serve food to about 500-1000 needy people everyday. The kitchen is functioning during the lockdown. Kitchen staff is maintaining distance and taking precautions to keep themselves and others safe. Lockdown ke hisaab se public wahaan pe nahi jeem rahi hai abhi. Jagdish chowk ke jitne bhi mitra mandal hein na, mewar sena, yuva morcha and so on, who also organise garba programmes in Jagdish chowk during navratri, together they are identifying the zarooratmund and distributing food packets mohalla wise. These groups have taken the necessary persmissions. Unke pass bane hue hein police prashasan se, muh pe mask bandh kar ke nikal rahe hein. Except for them no one is really allowed to move around. In the mandir, pujaris, safai karamcharis, everyone is following the guidelines of the government, to keep washing hands and cover their mouth with a mask or rumaal. Ashok ji also wears a rumaal when he goes to the mandir, he wears it while doing puja as well. Recently, media outlets like Mewar channel, India TV, and Aaj tak had come to the mandir to cover how it is operating during the lockdown.

An arial view of Jagdish mandir and Jagdish chowk. PC: Ashok ji

Usually about 10-15 sadhu sanyaasis are always sitting on the steps of the mandir. Some of them live here and there closeby and come to the madir early in the morning. Whatever they get as daan-punya, ussi mein unka gujar-basar karte hein woh. At night, several sleep around the mandir itself. But at the moment there are only 2-4 sadhu sanyasis at the madir steps. The rest have gone idhar udhar, apne gaaon ki taraf. In normal circumstances 100-300 sadhu sanyaasis would eat at the anna kshetra next to the mandir everyday.

Before the lockdown several people came to the temple regularly. They would come for darshan, for bhajan sandhyas, to sit together, and so on. Now they feel ki ye din kaise aa gaye hein ki bhagwaan se bhi duri ho gayi apni. Unko bhi bahut akelapan mehsus ho raha hai. Ashok ji and other pujaris try to give them bhagwaan ke darshan by sharing photos on WhatsApp.

There is a lot of police presence in Jagdish chowk. Police vehicles come often to the area and make announcements about remaining at home and not gathering in groups. Roads and public places are sanitized regularly. About 2 weeks ago, a few cases of Covid-19 were detected in Malla Talai, which is beyond Jagdish chowk and towards Chand Pol. The entire area was sealed off and movement in and out was completely stopped. They began to slowly relax the curfew there only about 2-3 days ago. In Ashok ji’s area doctors and nurses have come door to door asking if anyone has symptoms like cough or fever, or if anyone in the house has recently come from Bhilwara district, Maharashtra, or MP. These medical teams were wearing gloves and masks, and those who had symptoms were asked to accompany them for testing. As such there isn’t much tension in Udaipur since number of cases isn’t that high.

Road art at the chowk urging people to stay home, stay safe
PC: Ashok ji

Udaipur has one of the largest public hospitals in Rajasthan, the Maharana Bhupal Govt. Hospital. It is well-known across Rajasthan and in other states as well. Yahaan toh bahut achhi suvidhayein hein, doctors bhi achhe hein. In the hospital they have created a separate ward for corona patients, like they had created for swine flu. All corona patients are properly isolated.

Even so, dar toh lagta hi hai, dar kyun nahi lagega. This disease is spreading all over the world, there is a problem all over the world. Confined in his home, Ashokji prays that no one should get this disease. Vasudhaiva kutumbakam, ek parivaar ki tarah, sabko bimaari se mukt rakhhe, bhagwaan sabka bhala kare.

Before the lockdown, Ashok ji would wake up early in the morning, go to the mandir, seva puja karke he would get ready to go to the office where he works. He would prepare tiffin, get the children ready, wahi routine ka kaam rehta tha. Now ghar mein sab kaid ho gaye. But thoda bahut they are able to go out of the house to the mandir.

With the lockdown underway, both gates of the mandir are closed. In its 450-year-old history, it has never been closed to the public in this way. Humare buzurg log bhi bolte hein ki humne bhi kati aisa nahi suna ke mandir ke patdwaar band hue hon. Even when some similar circumstances have arisen in the past, darshan ke liye mandir ka band hona, aisa kabhi nahi hua hai. This is the first time it is happening. Humein bhi bahut atpata lag raha hai. Soona pan bhi hai. Mandir bhi band, sabse duri banake rakhna, bahar bhi nahi nikal sakte zyaada, kisi se baat nahi kar sakte. Lekin kya karo, jitna sarkar ka nirdesh hai, saara manna toh padega hi.

The pujari parishad of Jagdish mandir, in which each pujari has a place, looks after the maintenance and running of the mandir. It organises all festivities that take place within the mandir parisar, like holi, janmashtami, saavan jhula, the first part of rath yatra, in which a small rath is taken out within the mandir premises itself, and so on. The government and bhakts across the city put together the grand festivities that take place outside the mandir, such as preparations in the chowk for nirjala ekadashi and the second part of rath yatra, during which an elaborate rath accompanied by several jhankis progresses into the city with much fanfare.

Rath yatra 2018: 52 Jhankis, ceremonial firing, and a helicopter to shower the teeming chowk with rose petals. As people gather to celebrate and witness the yatra, several women occupy one of the best vantage points in the chowk – two sides of the mandir steps. Caption and photograph: Garima Raghuvanshy

Pujaris have no fixed monthly income. They collect whatever is placed in the pooja thaali by darshanaarthis. The closure of Jagdish mandir to the public has impacted Ashok ji’s family significantly. Humara toh parivaar isi pe tika hua hai. Everyone in the family is involved in puja at the mandir, and they are wholly dependent on it for their income. The income from other employments is very low. But bhagwaan ki krupa hai that they are quite alright and are not facing any dire straits.

People cannot come inside, but within the mandir complex, the work of the pujaris continues. Bhagwaan ki puja archana woh toh vidhivats chal hi rahi hai. Every day at 5:30 am the mandir opens, bhagwaan ka snaan karke 9:30 ko shrungaar aarti hoti hai. Bhagwaan ko ek ghante ka bhog lagta hai aur 11:30 ko bhog aarti hoti hai. The mandir is closed between 2:30 and 4 in the afternoon. Saayankal 7 baje sandhya aarti hoti hai, last mein, 9:45 shayan aarti hoti hai. Then the mandir is closed again. Prasad ban raha hai, bhog bhi lag raha hai, sab kuch chal raha hai. The prasad is made in lesser quantities now, enough only for the guards and safai karamcharis.

Jo parampara hai woh toh chal hi rahi hai. The only difference is, there are no darshanaarthis.

Meet a young boy from Nathdwara with 1 M YouTube Subscribers

YouTube has emerged as one of the largest video sharing platforms. And with so many YouTubers getting millions of views and subscribers, they have now become celebrities in their own rights.

But, when we talk about young YouTubers with millions of subscribers, the list is not that long. And if you filter the list as YouTubers from small towns, we’re talking about an even smaller pool of those who have made it to the top.

So, here we have Gagan Sharma, a 20-year-old YouTuber from the small town of Nathdwara, who owns the YouTube channel Cars For You which has serious views with upwards of 1M subscribers.

See what he has to share about his YouTubing experience.

When & why did you start making YouTube videos?

I started the channel Cars For You in April 2016. While searching for some YouTube videos related to my studies, I started wondering why so many people upload videos on YouTube. I did a little research on it realized that YouTube gives money for uploading content. And so, just thought of giving it a try.

What or who inspired you to start your YouTube channel?

I love watching celebrities’ luxury car collection and that’s what Cars For You is all about. Before Cars For You came into existence in 2016, the luxury car collection videos on YouTube only included slideshow format. So, I started making and uploading own content related to celebrities’ luxury car collection and later added the luxury celebrity lifestyle segment which was not there earlier.

Honestly, the fame and money that followed made me stick to it. I feel that almost 99% of people are making YouTube videos for money and there is nothing wrong in it.

How much time do you give to your channel?

I spend around 4-6 hours of a day on my YouTube channel.

How did you promote your channel when you first started?

I simply started with uploading content on YouTube and sharing it with friends on WhatsApp. I was getting around 25 to 30 views in a day initially. The content, because of its newness, became viral giving the channel the required boost.

What did you do to get so many subscribers?

I consistently kept uploading the content related to celebrities’ luxury car collection which was trending. I have been uploading a 1 video every 2 days at the same time since the time I started my channel. And from an article which shares the tips to grow your YouTube channel, I learned that as per the YouTube algorithm, content published around 7:00 PM gets a good response.

What do you think are the key reasons for the success of your YouTube channel?

Uploading unique yet trending content on a consistent basis is the major the primary reason behind this success of Cars For You. You can check the latest trending things on Google Trends.

Also, from my experience, I suggest not to quit too early. Some of my YouTube videos went viral after 9 months of uploading them. Sharing videos on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter also helped a lot.

How do you keep coming up with new ideas for videos?

I look for trending topics related to my channel on Google Trends. Sometimes I just make the videos own my choice that I love to watch while some of my videos are made on subscribers’ demand.

How do see it as your future/career?

Although I aspire to open my own car garage, I have not thought of YouTubing as a career. As of now, I am doing it for fun. I am studying, I have a page on Facebook and I also own a website. All these things can help me to shape my career as well.

Any tips you would like to give to the new YouTubers?

Keep on creating and sharing content on Youtube which you love. You never know what can get viral. Do not copy other’s ideas. If someone is making viral tech content, you do not necessarily have to make something similar. Make what you love.

Consistently keep on uploading trending content. For the first six months, my YouTube channel was only able to gain 187 odd subscribers. Once my videos started getting viral, I gained subscribers and views to reach this number.

AAVARAN (means ‘covering’ in Mewari language) was founded by Mrs Alka Sharma, textile graduate from Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur, Rajasthan, by this Alka wanted to uphold rural and indigenous communities and preserve their ‘traditional’ craft.

The initiative was started from Akola, which is a block printing cluster near Udaipur. The aim was to revive the culture so that the coming generations can carry the art forward.

AAVARAN’s workshop is predominantly of blue-white color, starting from the paint at the walls to cushion covers to pouches to the chappals to everything.

AAVARAN timeline

The process at AAVARAN is totally conventional, that’s why the job is very labour intensive. They develop cloth from various types of cotton and silk (chanderi and kotadoriya). The cotton cloth takes around 15-20 days to develop whereas silk takes around a month because mud-resistant is to be applied on the fabric for 4-5 days and then it’s bleached.

Cloth at AAVARAN goes through following stages to reach to you:

  1. The fabric is imported from the Southern part of India.
  2. The fabric is then washed to remove the impurities of the fabric which are the barrier in the printing procedure.
  3. The fabric is then checked to ensure that there aren’t any weave-mistakes or holes.
  4. The plain cloth is dyed with various dyes, one of them being indigo dye.
  5. The fabric is then printed in different colors and blocks.
  6. The printed cloth is embroidered and stitched upon.
  7. The stitched cloth is then packed in the stock room.
  8. The finished product is consumed by both domestic and international markets.

AAVARAN’s speciality is Dabu print which is traditional hand block printing craftsmanship from vintage Rajasthan. It is made from Dabu which is a mud resist process, and comprises of black soil, gum (gond) and chuna (calcium hydroxide). A mixture of beedan and ground along with mud is used to make a sticky paste. Dabu is applied to the fabric using wooden blocks. At AAVARAN, artisans make use of single and double dabu dexterities for cloth printing.

AAVARAN’s USP is that they manufacture Indigo printed clothes which is Mewar’s ancient expertise. They have 4 pits, each 9ft deep for bleaching the cloth with Indigo. After bleaching/dying the cloth is of greenish shade but turns into blue after exposed oxidization.

AAVARAN also specialize in Lep, as its literal meaning, mud is evenly spread on the cloth and left for drying after which the cloth is bleached and color texture can be seen in different shades on the same piece.

Zari and zardozi are one of the major embroidery craft done at AAVARAN.

Till now around 300 people have been employed by this initiative out of which 100 are in-house employees at AAVARAN who are engaged in Block Printing, Stitching, Dyeing etc., Udaipur and other 200 are women in and around Udaipur who work in clusters of 30 each and do dari making, tassel making, button making etc.

55 Countries and Counting – The Story of a Backpacker from Udaipur

Venturing out into the unknown all by yourself is something that holds an apex position on the bucket list of many. After all, who doesn’t want to leave behind their everyday regime of hullabaloo and ruckus? But certain things are easier said than done! If there are the perks of being a gallivanter, there is a slew of challenges attached to it, with pecuniary affairs sitting on the top.

But every cloud has a silver lining! And Vaibhav Jain from our very own City of Lakes – Udaipur – seemed to have found that periphery.

A backpacker, Vaibhav Jain is on a travel spree from last 4.5 years. And guess what! In this span, he has covered a whopping 55 countries all with his backpack, yearning to explore new places, and desire to meet new people. His passion for traveling didn’t kick 4.5 years back. In fact, he was bitten by the wander bug in his pre-teen years. Since his early days, Vaibhav used to mark places in the map and read about them. Soon he was engulfed by the urge to visit these countries and marvel at their beauty and explore their culture.

When his friends were attending lectures during college time, Vaibhav was somewhere exploring the less visited hill stations in Himachal Pradesh. He was rejoicing the bustling metros of Mumbai and secluded beaches in Goa when his academic allies were battling with different disciplines.

Well, before you brand Vaibhav with the tag of ‘an oofy guy’, let’s bring in the limelight his personal life and figure out how he manages his globetrotting.

Vaibhav is a fruit of a middle-class family tree. After pursuing his MBA, he stepped in the corporate world, with travel thoughts always hovering his head. However, owing to his travel ardor, he decided to bid adieu to his 9 to 5 routine once and for all. It was after two years and four different jobs in four different industries, Vaibhav was now all set to take the leap of faith. Undoubtedly, his family’s support in this endeavor further encouraged him and boosted his morale to step out of the norms laid down by the society. With all his courage collected, he made his first international trip, which also turned out to be his gateway to his ‘world exploration’ mission.

As a backpacker, he endeavors to travel more at an expense that doesn’t burn a hole in his pocket. He leverages local transport which keeps things under check. Commuting in local transportation facilities also helps him in knowing the life, people, and culture of that place. Being a vegetarian, he further manages to cut down his trip expenses. With a backpack containing fewer attires and accessories, he ensures that he has a quick and seamless movement from country to country and continent to continent.

Vaibhav’s fondness for souvenirs is unmatchable. Wherever he goes, he collects them. Be it maps, boarding passes, keychains, currency or t-shirts, he has some or the other thing from the places he has been to. He has a separate room at his home dedicated to all the souvenirs that he possesses. He stores all these novelties and mementos in special travel trunks.

‘…today, when everyone wants to be ahead of someone by blindly following the rat race, it is very essential to know and discover yourself as to what interests you and what you are passionate about.‘ shares Vaibhav, thus clarifying that for him, traveling is more about self-discovery than selfies.

From Cape Point in South Africa, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Lisbon in Portugal, Seville in Spain, Verona in Italy, Bratislava in Slovakia, Hoi An in Vietnam, Chiang Mai and Koh Lanta in Thailand to Pamukkale in Turkey and St. Petersburg in Russia, the travel portfolio of Vaibhav entails a myriad of different destinations around the world.

[Intro Entrepreneurs] Kunal Bagla – The path builder to ‘ARCGATE’

We all know how Udaipur has evolved greatly over time and marked its presence across the world as a well-known tourist destination. While roaming around the city, it came to my surprise that it also has many “OMG” aspects apart from the city’s hospitality and tourism. Since I have become a part of UdaipurBlog Team I’ve seen many things developing around the city but one thing that attracted me the most was well booming IT city. Yes, you read it right, Udaipur has left a great footprint globally in the IT industry as well. A separate IT park in the Mewar Industrial Area commonly known as Madri speaks for the IT thing itself.

Being from an IT field myself, I was more than curious to know that how did an IT industry grow in such a comparatively smaller and technologically unremarkable city than the metropolitan. While the search was on, luckily I got a chance to have a cup of coffee with one of the most successful people running an IT industry down in Udaipur. I happened to meet this ever motivating and inspiring person, Mr. Kunal Bagla, Founder of Arcgate. The conversation was more than just a normal interview and it would be wrong on our part if we don’t share such great views with you.

Let’s find out how the cup of coffee turned into an ever inspiring interview:

Q.1. Let’s start with first things first, how did the journey started from being a normal Udaipur boy to an inspiring businessman?

-So born and brought up in Udaipur, I got admitted to St. Paul’s. I studied till class 6th over there, went to boarding school in Dehradun for higher studies. Then I flew abroad to the University of Texas, Austin for my undergraduate course in Master of Information Systems & Business Honors. Since then, life has always been a rock and roll ride.

Q.2. Being from the IT field itself, you must have a vast sea of experiences, feel like sharing it with us?

-The journey started by moving to Houston. I was a technology consultant there for one of the big elephants at that time, Deloitte. Being there for good 6 years where I did a lot of large scale technology development for clients spread across all over the US. It inspired me to do something like this for my city as well.

Q.3. Tell us about your inspiration which helped you to build a corporation like Arcgate?

-It’s never a single person as such, it’s typically a journey of events which molds you and motivates you to go in a particular direction. In my case, as I mentioned I saw a huge potential in providing world-class services like Deloitte which takes it to where it is now. Again it is back in 2004-05 after the dot com burst. Even today the fast-growing companies typically do not get the attention because of:

a.) It requires a lot of attention is required.

b.) The size of the business is also very small as compared to the other industries and the risk factor in which they don’t do well.

And in our experience, no one was tapping that market, we saw an opportunity and thought to grab it. I started Arcgate while I was still in Austin. We set up a back office in Udaipur itself, pretty much a garage kind of setup. We’ve grown organically from the last 14 years by taking one step at a time. So it’s not just a person, it’s a combination of people who see the good work and contribute in different ways.

Q.4. Can you please share with us some of the fond memories from your schooling till building such a corporation like Arcgate?

-You always have good days and bad days, right, you always learn something new lessons and that’s the beauty of the IT industry that you get to learn new things every day. The key is to do something you enjoy and be open to learning new things. Make sure that you never get overconfident and complacent. Every success and failure is a fond memory in growing a startup like we are, from 2 people to 2000, the ride has been amazing.

Q.5. That accounts for the many amazing delights connected with the journey. Speaking about the darker side, what all challenges did you have to face??

-I feel challenges are part of your journey, right. All the hardships you face from schooling till you are grown up, from learning chapters in schools to meeting deadlines for your client, shapes you as a person you are. I think if you dodge those tough time and opt for shortcuts, cause mind it, you’ll be offered those, it catches up with you real soon if you fail to take it in a good stride.

Q.6. So when you are not working, what are your favorite go-to things to recreate yourself?

-Unfortunately working for a startup like Arcgate you don’t get much of the time to spend for personal life and hobbies but that’s a decision or a lifestyle choice I made. No complaints about that. As soon as I get time, I go back to the family and be with them. Apart from that I also like reading interesting success stories and business books like ‘Work Rules’ by Chief People Officer at Google, Laszlo Bock, ‘Value Investing’ and many more by Warren Buffet, there’s no end to learning.

Q.7. A piece of advice for all the budding entrepreneurs out there in the city?

-Today entrepreneurship and startups are a worldwide thing happening as far as the remote areas in Africa or be it Northern Europe. Youngsters today are trying to innovate new things and believe in taking their chances. But on the flip side, the startup culture is made to look glorified and sexy by our media whereas the reality is nothing close to that. It’s a different dynamic, DNA and yes, of course, a long journey as well. You just don’t start it because it’s a wave, you have to be in it for long term.

Q.8. Setting goal is a tough task too nowadays, how do you set it, like is it for long terms or for shorter periods?

-You should always have a long vision like planning your next 6 to12 months because anything bigger than that is more of a life goal. There’s no point coming up with a business plan for 5 years in today’s world where the things are changing drastically in the 6 months itself. Make milestones for every month, what you want to be and you are already halfway there.

Q.9. The life mantras which have always worked for you?

  • The biggest mantra is to “WORK HARD”, keep your focus and stay grounded. Never let success or overconfidence get to you.
  • Be nice to people around you as they are working for you day and night, appreciate them for strengths and weaknesses as well.
  • Focus on ethics, never try to take shortcuts in life because they catch up to you very fast.
  • Do good things that help other people as well. That’ll help you to have a good night sleep at the end of the day.

Q.11. A special message for us at Udaipurblog?

-Udaipur’s hospitality and travel industry has always made into the news worldwide; hopefully a decade from now, it can also be known as the world’s IT hub! And we look forward to platforms such as Udaipurblog that has always been the best in increasing the awareness about the potential for IT Industry. Udaipurblog has always been the best at growing things digitally as well as socially in and around Udaipur. We wish that Udaipurblog continues the great service it has been providing to its customers from the last decade.
