Techno India NJR Conducts 3 days National Level Workshop on AI & Deep Learning in collaboration with NVIDIA

 

A three days National Level Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning was inaugurated at Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur on 8th March 2019. This workshop is being held in collaboration with NVIDIA and Bennett University under the nationwide initiative on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning skilling and research. The speakers for the workshop were Dr. Suneet Kumar Gupta from Bennett University and Mr. Mrudang Pandya from Charusat University. On the first two days of the workshop, theory and concepts of Machine Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Network, and Deep Learning Hacks will be covered. On the third day, NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute will provide hands-on training for developers, data scientists, and researcher looking to solve challenging problems with Deep Learning. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeev Gupta, Pro VC of Rajasthan Technical University Kota. The participants for the workshop included students, college and school faculties along with Professionals from Industry.

Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur breaks Guinness World Record

Shri Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mewar, prince of Udaipur sets yet another remarkable example for the society. The Prince broke the previous Guinness World Record for the largest collection of clothes for Recycle/Donation on 9th March 2019 making all us Udaipurites and Udaipur proud again.Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar

The Prince runs a campaign named ‘VASTRADAN’ which collects clothes for the underprivileged and distributes them to the needy. The campaign collected over 3,29,250 pieces of clothing material from around 76000 donors and reached out to over 120 schools, 15 colleges and around 30 NGO’s during it’s working span.

Devoting his world record to the campaign, Prince claims it’s not him who has won the world record instead it’s the campaign which made us honored. The prince dedicates this award to the utter beauty of a generous human heart and the spirit that keeps the brotherhood amongst us igniting.

The prince added, “I started this campaign as an innovative exercise in giving. I could have asked some organizations to fund the same, but I wanted the citizens, young boys and girls of this remarkable city to show what a large heart they have”.

Previously this record was held by Dubai where the local citizens donated 2,95,122 articles of clothing in 2016. The donations came in from more than 12 countries including Australia, USA, Oman, Sri Lanka, and UAE.

The Royal of Mewar has future plans to make this campaign an annual affair which will help in instilling the keenness and discipline of giving. He also believes that this is a symbol of a culturally rich, stable and morally sound culture.

Udaipur ranked in World’s 100 Most Polluted Cities

Our Lakecity has always been in news for its beauty and its lakes. But this time there’s a complete U-turn and it is not at all pleasant to hear for Udaipurites. Udaipur has been named amongst the world’s 100 most polluted cities by IQ AirVisual in its World Air Quality Report 2018.

Udaipur was ranked 94th in this list. The average PM2.5 level in Udaipur is 55.1. The air quality of this level comes under the ‘Unhealthy’ category and is dangerous for sensitive groups. The growing traffic and the regular deforestation happening around the city in the name of development is now turning out to be dangerous.

Unfortunately, 7 out of the top 10 most polluted cities in the World Air Quality Index Report are in India. Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai were the toppers from India and this is not something we Indians should be proud of.

Fatehsagar and Pichola soon to have ‘No-Selfie Zones’

A meeting was hosted by District Tourism Development Committee in the collectorate premises on Tuesday. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various steps that needed to be taken to improve the conditions of various tourist attractions in Udaipur. Tourism Industry is one of the biggest business sectors for the Udaipurites and needs reforms to strengthen its roots.

Steps like regular police patrolling, improving traffic conditions around the tourist spots were discussed at length. Common accident-prone spots at popular tourist attractions like Fatehsagar, Badi, Sajjangarh Fort, Gangaur Ghat, Jagdish Mandir, Fatehsagar, Ambrai, Rani Road will soon be declared as no-selfie zone due to safety concerns. The meeting was led by Additional District Collector Sanjay Kumar and Udaipur’s Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, District Traffic Administrator Kalpana Sharma along with other officials attended the meeting.

The Heritage Walk which is closed from the past 2 years was also discussed and steps to restart it was one of the major discussion points. The mayor is in discussion with officials from the Udaipur Guide Association to restart the Heritage Walk at the earliest.

Udaipur is well known for its tourism industry and the government is taking various steps from time to time for its betterment.

British Council and AICTE invite Dr. Pankaj Porwal to UK for Leadership Development Program

Dr. Pankaj Porwal, Principal Techno India NJR Institute of Technology will be part of 10
member team selected by the British Council and AICTE for 5 days visit of Dudley College, the UK.

Under the United Kingdom and India Education Research Initiative (UKIERI) Leadership
Development Program. This visit is a culmination of four leadership development workshops organized in various parts of India in 2017-18 for 100 principals from various private and government engineering colleges. Selection of 10 members was based on the level of participation in the workshops and the impact that the participants had in their institutions.

The aim of this program is to develop advanced leadership and management skills and laying the foundation for long term sustainability within the participating institutions. The visit is tentatively scheduled in 1 st week of April.

This is a new feather in the cap of Dr. Pankaj Porwal, who is a graduate of IIT Bombay and
Ph.D. from Cornell University (USA) and had served at IIT Bombay as Assistant Professor.
He has been leading Techno India NJR as principal for last 9 years.

Indian Tennis Player Somdev Devvarman’s wedding to be held in Udaipur

Somdev Devvarman is a former professional Indian tennis player who has been awarded Arjuna award and the Padma Shri award. The renowned sportsman is said to be getting hitched with Shiwali Wal in the City of Lakes.

The wedding will take place at the The Royal Retreat Resort & Spa on 27th and 28th February where several Bollywood celebrities, sportsperson, international celebrities, and close family members would be invited. According to the wedding planner, Manish Purohit, the wedding is going to be very subtle and only close ones are invited. Upon asking about the celebrity specific, he chose to remain quiet.

However, one thing is for sure, the city would soon be filled with the wedding vibes again.

Udaipur-Indore Direct Flight to be Started in the Month of April

After a number of direct flights to various cities, it’s good news for all the air travelers from Udaipur to Indore or vice versa. This flight will be operated by Jet Airways.

As per the summer schedule released by Jet Airways, the flight will be started from the month of April. This news will turn out to be a great relief to the frequent travelers to the city for the purpose of education, business or travel. Earlier people had to take the connecting flight to the city or had to opt for road or rail choice.

Along with that, Jet Airways and Spice Jet will also start a direct flight from Udaipur to Bhopal. In this way, Udaipur will have 3 direct flights to Madhya Pradesh, for the first time.

Udaipur-Bengaluru Flight to be Stopped by Spice Jet

Spice Jet’s flight from Udaipur to Bengaluru is going to stop from 1st March 2019. Currently, the flight SG-726 departs from Bengaluru at 12:10 pm and lands in Udaipur at 3:05 pm and further departs from Udaipur at 3:40 pm and lands in Bengaluru at 5:35 pm.

End of the flight would hinder the connectivity of Udaipur from South India and at the same time, numerous people will suffer who travel to Bengaluru for trade, education, and employment. It is expected that the flight will resume in the summer schedule as the response on the route was very reassuring.

However, Indigo airlines will run regularly on the given route. Indigo’s 6E-968 will depart from Bangalore at 3.10 pm and reach Udaipur at 5.30 pm and will depart from Udaipur at 6.00 pm and reach Bangalore at 8.10 pm.

300 Traffic Defaulters Fined by the Police in a Single Day

As per the orders of District Police Superintendent Kailash Chandra Bishnoi, the traffic police of the city have strengthened its road safety efforts. Under a special campaign, traffic defaulters such as people driving their vehicles in a drunken state or had covered their face with a scarf or mask or were violating any other traffic rule.

Traffic in UdaipurTraffic police fined a total of 300 people in a single day. Under the 185 MV act, 66 people were fined for driving in a drunken state or had their face covered while driving, whereas other 222 people were fined for violating other traffic rules.
