Udaipur Cycling group Creates a Record with 24 hour Cycling and Running

Udaipur cycling group and Mewari runners created a record by cycling and running for 24 hours. The event took place at Fatehsagar road where children also participated in it.

It was under the campaign ‘Pedal for cause’ whose main aim was to collect donation from the generous people of Udaipur which can be used to buy blankets for needy people in the shivering winters on the occasion.

Moreover, through the campaign, the organizers and the participants were able to overachieve their targets where they aimed for collecting amount for 100 blankets but ended up collecting for 200 instead.

It’s for such high-spirited people that many poor people in Udaipur would be able to protect themselves from the cruel weather.

Names Of The Chourahas And Roads To Be Changed In Udaipur

New names are going to be kept for the Chourahas and roads in Udaipur. Several routes were named in the meeting of the Cultural Committee of the Municipal Corporation. Also, a decision was taken to set up a statue of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Subcity Centre.

The names of the roads and Chouraha changed are as follows:

  • The road from Ayad Pulia to Sukhdia University will be named as Vivekanand Marg,
  • Dhulkot Chouraha will be named as Sant Pipaji Chouraha,
  • Pipli Chouraha at Tekri will be named as Devnarayan Chouraha and
  • Savina Railway Crossing Underbridge will now be known as Bhagwan Vishwakarma Underbridge.

This meeting was held in the presence of Chairman Jagdish Menaria and Mayor Chandra Kothari.

Fun Tanga Ride to Start at Fatehsagar and Rani Road

A huge bucket of nostalgia is going to shower you as Udaipur will soon have a fun tanga ride at Fatehsagar and Rani Road. Municipal Corporation of Udaipur held a meeting where they discussed running overall 7 Tangas on the beginning note. It was further decided that 3 tangas will run from Devali to Rani Road, 2 tangas will run from Mahakal temple to Devali and the rest 2 will run from Swaroop Sagar to Moti Magri.

This will prove to be a good action as per the environment conservation after the cycle sharing the news. With the Tanga ride, many people will be able to recall the fun old days in the city. Furthermore, the people who used to earn their livelihood from Tanga riding will again have the opportunity to start it once again.

It has been decided that the tanga operators will have to pay Rs. 2000/- as license fees per annum. It’s not good news for just locals but also the tourists. They will also be able to adore the stunning view of Lake Fatehsagar while also enjoying the tanga ride.

Udaipur Police in Action-Vehicle checking to start every Tuesday!

Udaipur Police to start a strict and sudden vehicle checking. This is especially going to happen every Tuesday! This checking will be carried out by the police in unison with the Department of Transportation (परिवाहन विभाग). Meanwhile, riders will bear heavy challans for not having two-wheeler licenses, vehicle RC papers, and helmets.

This decision was taken at the District Level Road Safety Meeting held at the District Collectorate (जिला कलक्ट्रेट) on Wednesday, 9th Jan 2019. Additional District Collector Sanjay Kumar, Regional Transport Officer Mannalal Rawat, District Transport Officer Dr. Kalpana Sharma, Akshay Vishnoi, Nitin Bohra, Traffic Deputy Superintendent Ratan Chawla were present in the meeting.

Due to the increase in the number of deaths caused by accidents, the ADM (city) expressed concern for the same in the meeting and reached to a conclusion that the district police and transport department will jointly take actions against two-wheelers without helmets. Further, on every Tuesday the police shall make special checks for RC papers and licenses etc.

As this is the 30th National Road Safety Week even the Education Department is going to help the police and district administration. To educate people especially the youth about road safety measures the Education Department will organize essay, poetry and poster slogan competitions from 14th to 19th January 2019 in all the secondary and higher secondary schools of the district. The top 100 participants at the district level will be honored during the 30th National Road Safety Week.

Udaipur’s New SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi

The State government issued the third transfer list of IPS in just 48 hours on Tuesday. In the list, 6 DIG and 12 SP officers have been transferred. These include 8 district’s SPs. ADG ML and Rajeev Dasot have been promoted to DG rank. Udaipur’s SP Kunwar Rashtradeep has been posted to Ajmer whereas Ajmer’s SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi has been appointed as SP of Udaipur.

The New SP of Udaipur, Kailash Chandra Bishnoi hails from Bikaner and has also served as the Superintendent of police in Bharatpur, Alwar, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, and Sirohi.

There are 9 such lists of 20 IPS, whose posts have been changed for the second time in 48 hours. These also include two DCPs posted in Jaipur. After this list, there will be three additional police commissioners in Jaipur for the first time. This responsibility will be with Laxman Gaur, Ajay Pal Lamba, and Prasanna Kumar Khamsera.

Swachh Sarvekshan 2019- Will Udaipur be able to make it to top 50 this year?

Swachh Sarvekshan has started on 4th Jan 2019 and will conclude on 31st Jan 2019. This time, the Udaipur Municipal Corporation is aiming to reach among the top 50 cleanest cities of India. There is a great level of enthusiasm in the municipal corporation of the state and is desperate to get a better rank than the previous rank.

Last year in 2018, Udaipur scored:

  • 546/1400 in Service Level,
  • 940/1200 in Direct Observation,
  • 1118/1400 in Citizen Feedback and Swachhata App and
  • An overall score of 2623 out of 4000.

This score got Udaipur 85th rank in the total ranking of 100 ULBs (urban local bodies) on the basis of the total score. Indore was the cleanliest city in the 2018 Swachh Sarvekshan.

This year there are many changes regarding the Swachh Sarvekshan 2019. In such a situation, Udaipur has to work hard to get a better ranking than the year 2018. The municipal corporation has completed the first step of the verification of the documents, but the major test awaits now.

Direct Flight from Aurangabad to Udaipur and then to Jodhpur

Direct Flight will be started by Jet Airways from Aurangabad to Udaipur which will take a short stop and then will go to Jodhpur. The flight will begin from March, connecting both of these places to the city through the air.

This air connectivity of Udaipur with Jodhpur will be continued after a long time span wherein the connectivity was broken when the Supreme Airlines stopped operating here. These Flight connections come under the third phase of RCS or Regional Connectivity Scheme which is also known as UDAN.

These new flights have come with a potential of great tourism within the range of Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Aurangabad. All the three places attract a large chunk of tourists every year for their own reasons. Udaipur well-known for being the City of Lakes has been a priority in the bucket list of all the tourists. On the other hand, Aurangabad houses the Ajanta Ellora caves which also attract tourists from all over the world. Also, Shirdi being at a distance of 2-3 hrs from Aurangabad, homes several Shirdi devotees.

The RCS or the Regional Connectivity Scheme provides flight for affordable flight charges. Most of the ATR flight are operated under this very scheme where the flight are scaled at Rs. 2500/-

New Authorities Kick-start Projects in Udaipur | Read to Know

Recently many transfers took place in the State which has given new authorities to the Udaipur city including the new and first women collector of Udaipur – Ms. Anandhi along with the new Nagar Nigam commissioner – Anjali Rajoria. Due to the same reasons, existing projects, as well as new projects, are kick-started in the city. Let us look through the recent two projects which are going to be undertaken in the city.

 

Public Cycle Sharing System in Udaipur

A meeting was held on Tuesday by Udaipur Smart City Ltd. where the officers of smart city project gave information about the cycle sharing system to Udaipur’s new Collector Anandhi. Moreover, a brief about all the proposed projects as well as the completed projects were also given. According to the CEO of Smart City, tenders are being invited for the 25 low-floor and 10 low-floor AC buses.

Under the public sharing system, cycle sharing will be provided at public places and for the same, cycle stands will be constructed. From these cycle stands, any person can pick cycles and leave them at the nearest cycle stand once they are done with their work.

 

Foot Over Bridge at Hospital Road

On the other hand, Udaipur Municipal Corporation (UMC) will begin the construction of Foot Over Bridge at the MB Hospital Road. This bridge will connect the entrance of the hospital to the medical shops at the other end which will make it very convenient for the patients and their relatives to move to the other side during heavy traffic on the road.

Along with that, 18 more Foot Over Bridge will be constructed in the city which will cost Rs. 75 Lakh Rupees. These FOBs will be constructed of the Iron-steel material on a single pillar which will be placed on a divider. The work for the same would probably begin by 10th January 2019.

Art of Dilip Damor from Kherwara Selected in Macau

The government of Cultural affair in Macau organized a Print Making Trinale in which the artistry of young artist from Kherwara, Dilip Damor was selected. This artistry of Dilip was named as ‘Journey of the Universe – 16’. The dimension of this masterpiece is 2×3 Feet which represents the country of India.

Surprisingly, there were a total of 1095 entries from 29 different countries and continents including Asia, Europe, and the United States. The jury panel of the event which included the artists of Macau such as Wong Wei and Loi Chi Chang carefully judged all the entries and at the end 175 of them made it to the finals. The artistry of these finalists will be displayed in various galleries of Macau from 28th December to 17th March 2019. All the artworks will be stored in the cultural Museum of Macau by the government that will represent the interconnection of events and ideas held at an international scale.

Anjali becomes New Nagar Nigam Commissioner and Ravindra Shrimali Removed from Chairman of UIT

The state government of Rajasthan transferred 3 divisional commissioners, one collector, 21 IAS officers and 16 officers of Indian Police service at 12 midnight on Wednesday. In the 20 days of the formation of a new government in the state, 129 IAS has been transferred. This is the fourth transfer list of IAS and second transfer list of IPS.

Ajmer SDO Anjali Rajoria will now be commissioner in Udaipur Municipal Corporation, while Pankaj Kumar Singh, CEO of Chittorgarh Zilla Parishad has been made Managing Director of RSMM. Kota Divisional Commissioner Kailash Chand Verma will be the Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur. Municipal Commissioner Municipal Corporation has appointed Vijaypal Singh as Commissioner.

Principal Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra has given additional charge of UDH. Shyamsingh Rajpurohit will be the new collector in Pratapgarh. In the IPS transfer list, DG NRK Reddy has been given the responsibility of DG Jail. Dr. Bhupinder Singh has been imposed as DG in ATS and SOG from DG jail.

Whereas on the other hand, later in the month of December 2018, 8 UIT Chairmen were removed including that of UIT Udaipur, Ravindra Shrimali. As per the orders released on 31st December 2018, UIT Chairman of Udaipur, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Jaisalmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Sikar, and Sri Ganganagar was removed.
