Train Ayi, Train Ayi!! Change the notion to Bullet Train Ayi…
But, this is a jet speed train, which is quite superior compared to any other infrastructural facilities in India. Faster than metros even, the government’s pet project of Bullet trains is gaining momentum in India.
High-Speed Rail Corporation (HSRC) is conducting feasibility studies on the several rail corridors. And, finally, they have submitted a final report for Delhi-Amritsar project and draft report for Delhi-Kolkata corridor to the ministry of Railways.
Also, in the series, Delhi-Mumbai corridor is being planned as an adjunct of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor. And, it is noticeable that stations falling in the extension of Delhi-Mumbai bullet train corridor will include these cities: Gurgaon, Jaipur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat.
HSRC is expected to submit final feasibility report of all the corridors by the end of the year. For the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, a company namely National High-Speed Rail Corporation has already been formed by Indian Railways.
Work on the high-speed corridors is anticipated to start in 2021 and expected to take 15-20 years for completion.
