Jaipur, 4 November 2015: Ahead of the ‘Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit 2015’ slated to be held this month, the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan signed 76 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) worth Rs. 319.8 crore here today.
In the presence of State Minister of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Smt. Krishnendra Kaur and Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Shailendra Agarwal the Director of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Anil Chaplot signed the MOUs on behalf of the Department at hotel ITC Rajputana in Jaipur. The 76 MOUs signed today were each less than Rs 10 crore in value and will provide direct employment to 2830 people in the State.
“These MOUs were signed as a precursor to the upcoming Resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit. We aim to create an investor-friendly environment in Rajasthan by facilitating policies which will take Rajasthan on a global level. We will support all endeavours to rapidly execute the MOUs signed today” said the State Minister Tourism.
Speaking at the occasion, Shri Agarwal said that the projects for which the MOUs were signed today will be implemented with next 2 to 3 years. The department will facilitate the projects to get the clearance or certification ifrequired. The projects range from hotels and motels to resorts and meditation centres.
Mr. Agarwal further highlighted the benefits of the newly launched Tourism Unit Policy 2015. It is to be noted that 42 MOUs of over 10 crores each will be signed under the Tourism sector tomorrow. The MOU signing ceremony will also witness a host MOUs of other sectors including Urban Housing Development (UDH), Skill Development, Energy and Agriculture as well.
