Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (MMCF) in the City Palace of Udaipur is preserving the tangible and intangible ‘living heritage’ of Mewar since 1969. Now in its fifth decade of operations, MMCF is sustaining its responsibility towards humanity and has invested in four key areas: heritage preservation, education, eco-conservation and philanthropy. Through a series of comprehensive and informed initiatives, we have been positively impacting the lives of a sizeable section of the heritage-city’s population.
The 3rd World Living Heritage Festival (WLHF) – 2016 www.worldlivingheritagefestival.in organised by MMCF is scheduled to be inaugurated from October 2015 with an International Art Workshop in Udaipur. This will be followed by a series of programmes/ activities to culminate with the international conference in March 2016.
This autumn MMCF has invited the world renowned artist, painter and mentor Mr. Rob Vander Zee from Vander Zee School of Art, Washington DC, United States of America and Ms. Sujata Dere a well known and acclaimed artist from India to conduct an International Art Workshop followed by Painting Exhibition, of these art works, for talented artists in Udaipur. The main objective is to encourage them to bring a new flamboyance, to nurture the hidden creativity of the artists by providing them an International exposure by several new modern techniques and giving them an opportunity to challenge themselves to attain a higher level of expression in pursuit of their art at the International Art workshop being organised by The City Palace Museum, Udaipur, Rajasthan at Sabha Shiromani Ka Darikhana, from 12th to 19th October, 2015 from 10 am to 4 pm.
At the end of the workshop, MMCF will organize an exhibition of these paintings created during the workshop at The City Palace Museum, Udaipur from 21 – 24 October 2015 and India Habitat Centre in 1st week of November 2015. The Udaipur exhibition will be inaugurated on 21st October, 2015 at Chhota Darikhana, The City Palace, Udaipur at 6 pm and this Exhibition will continue from 22nd to 24th October, 2015 from 10 am to 4 pm.
In continuation 30 artists had called with their detailed portfolio which contain sample of their work to us for the pre-selection process for the workshop at The City Palace, Udaipur.

He is an internationally acclaimed artist, but more importantly, he is an excellent teacher who has mentored many artists’ and honed their skills to a very high degree. Rob is the founder and President of the Vander Zee Foundation, an organization designed to promote art education and facilitate the process of artists moving from amateur to professional capabilities. Rob runs one of the very few schools in the country that works with each individual student to teach them the painting skills they need, helps them develop their marketing packages and business skills, as well as making introductions to galleries and other art venues.

She graduated from the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai in 1979 and won an award in the Maharashtra State Art Exhibition in the same year. She works in mixed media on archival paper, using layers of dry and wet materials, working with aqaurellable pencils, gesso, acrylic paint and conte; using thick and thin lines and bold strokes. Widely travelled in India and abroad, she has been interacting with a wide range of artists, including local artists in Rajasthan and MP; helping them hone their skills. Sujata’s works have been showcased in many significant exhibitions and have won both critical and popular acclaim.
