31 Resonites cracked KVPY Stage-I

Students of Resonance, Udaipur have once again excelled in competitive examinations conducted at the national level. Remarkably, 31 students of the institute have cleared the first stage of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yogana (KVPY). The first stage which was a written test was conducted in different cities of the country. Thousands of students of class XI and XII participated in this examination.

From class XI, 13 students have successfully cleared the examination are Abbas Ali Pansary, Ankit Salvi, Arpit Pachauri, Charvi Nahar, Diggaj Bhandari, Harshul Lodha, Mansi Jain, Nilesh Vasita, Prakhar Suhalka, Sachin Goyal, Sahil Mantri, Subrat Singh Balot, Sudeep Agrawal where as 18 students of class XII cleared the examination are Anshul Jain, Arafat Dad Khan, Arpit Jain, Ashish Nasa, Chinmay Maheshwari, Dheeraj Sejwani, Divyansh Ameta, Harshit Purohit, Kshitij Mundra, Megha Maheshwari, Nikita Paliwal, Pallav Jain, Rajat Singhvi, Shreyans Hinger, Snehil Vijay, Vandan Kothari, Vipul Jain, Yash Jain.

All the 31 students are regular classroom students of yearlong contact programme. Out of these 14 students are studying in Resonance-MDS integrated courses.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowships in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and examination is conducted by Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru in two Stages – first of which is a written test followed by Interview. Students from Class XI & Class XII have been selected for the fellowship which varies from Rs. 4000/- to 7000/- per month along with annual contingency grant of Rs. 20000/- to Rs. 28000/-. The first stage of this examination, the written test was conducted on 27th October, 2013.

The objectives of the program are to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their potential in their studies; encourage them to take up research careers in Science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.
