[Picnic Destination] Enjoy the Monsoon at Nandeshwar Ji

Already a great weather outside, isn’t it? So do you want to have fun, go for a picnic with family or hangout with friends? Are you confused which place to go and what can be the journey distance? Confused about the path? Let us suggest you few good locations for the same, and solve your queries. In the same series, we first bring to you a cool, peaceful location in the nature’s lap, the people who know it guessed right, I am talking about Nandeshwar Ji.

Nandeshwar is about 15kms from Udaipur. It is Lord Shiva’s temple situated in the vicinity, because of which, the place is more commonly known as Nandeshwar ji (most famous name for Udaipies.) The place has a beautiful pond and is full of amazing flora and fauna. You can spend your time there by taking a look of awesome beauty of nature, and also enjoy in flowing water (but with ensured safety measures). In short it’s the best destination for you, if you are searching a perfect place for Picnic in the season of monsoon. The temple can be a nice centre of peace for the religious people, and there’s a wishing well too. It is believed that if the coin you throw in it touches the large stone in it, your wish will be fulfilled.

How to Reach: After Crossing Ambamata circle there is a straight road to Rampura circle (commonly known as the Rampura choraha ), then follow a straight path. After crossing a remote area you will find out your destination. The guidelines on the road will help you more.

The route to Nandeshwar ji from Rampura circle is decked with greenery, single lane road and some lovely farm houses. What a visual treat! That being said, the route was full of overloaded buses and jeeps, which could give you shivers.

A humble request from UdaipurBlog: do ensure your safety, and follow the boards and warnings at the picnic spots.

World Breastfeeding Week concluded with series of Awareness Programmes

Mother’s milk is the first gift by a mother to her newborn. It is the healthiest form of milk for the baby which contains the right amount of fats, sugar, water, minerals and proteins that ensures his complete physical and mental growth. Mother confers immunity to her baby through this milk which protects him from respiratory infections and diarrhoeal diseases. Breastfeeding the child reduces the risk of blood loss after delivery, breast and ovarian cancer, gaining excess weight and iron deficiency.

The show started at about 10:15 a.m. and the management got a whopping response from the entire department, with around 700 officers and other members of the Police coming to see the movie at Picture Palace.

Special screening of Singham | UdaipurBlog

Singham – The film is set in a small village in Maharashta, where corruption is rife and crooked politicians call the shots. Ajay Devgn’s character Bajirao Singham is an honest police officer who has the single minded mission to eradicate all the corruption by any means possible. He is inspiring and defines the role of a Police officer. He exemplifies honesty and the will to drive a positive change. These are the traits we all wish to see in our Police.

It is a belief that today Cinema is the most influential form of entertainment. Films are creating an unprecedented impact on our generation and socially-responsible-movies like Singham are taking lead. On the Friendships Day, and a few days before Independence Day, the initiative to bring the entire Police force together under one roof, reminding them that they are the friends of the society and it is their utmost responsibility to maintain our freedom, is absolutely a great thinking and implementation by the management.

Ashoka Cinema & Picture Palace Cinema have been providing quality entertainment to the City of Udaipur since 1945 and shall continue to do so for times to come. We always hope that inspiring movies, motivational movies, and movies with a message continue to release at our cinemas and entertain the people. We express are happiness and pride that Udaipur’s Police have been always around in times of trouble and have kept this city safe and peaceful. We express our gratitude towards them on this Friendship Day for being with us always. We also thank the department for allowing us to have this screening as our humble contribution towards betterment of our society.” said Mr. Mukund Sanghi, on behalf of Ashoka Cinema & Picture Palace Cinema.

Hey! Happy Friendship Day Guys…

friendship day udaipur

Today morning I woke up from the bed, and found about 20-30 unread messages in my inbox. So what’s so special about the day? I guess nothing much special, as if it would have been any special day, there would be no messages at all due to telecom companies charging more money per message. Still I opened my inbox, checked the messages, and recalled, “Damn! This is the first Sunday of August. How did I forget?”

So what’s there too special about the first Sunday? Yes of course it’s the friendship day. Time to greet friends, plan great stuffs, parties, hangouts, gifting them, friendship bands, movies, and all the celebration. So this is not only a story of mine, but probably all of yours. So what are you doing today? What can be the possible plans?

Okay starting with a day plan with a good movie with friends, a good party can be thrown in the evening at any good location, or even at residence. Or we can also have the option to join few friendship day parties being organized for the public. All you need is to just get the passes and take your masti gang to the venue.

The other plan can be to have a day out plan till late evening to any cool location, badi, nandeshwar ji, thoor ki paal, and many more, and having the spirit of an udaipie, as a regular custom, end the hangout ceremony with a kulfi or bread pakoda at fateh sagar. A coffee at Vinod Ji Fatehsagar can also be a good option indeed. And surprisingly, if you find any rock show being performed at the Fatehsagar paal, don’t be confused, they too are friends amongst us, taking initiative to befriend the nature.

Or the day could also be spent by having a burger at McDonald’s, and window shopping, or some serious shopping for the day.

So I have recited ample of plans for the rocking day. All you can do is pick up a good one which suits you out of these, or create some new idea to celebrate the day. If you have a better one, do share it here. So take your time to plan out, meanwhile I would like to leave, as I have to wish and apologies everyone for forgetting the day, and plan out something cool too.

And yeah ofcourse, I on behalf of UdaipurBlog.com Team would also like to extend my heartiest greetings on this occasion of the wonderful day.

ramadan udaipur

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic year. It is the holy month of fasting. Ramadan is the month the Qur’an was revealed with clear guidance and differentiation (between good and bad.) Whoever of you is a witness of this month, should fast.

During Ramadan, all Muslims will go without all the pleasures of the body throughout the hours of the day. Sawm is the intentional control of the body by an act of will. During that month Muslims renew and re-establish their commitments to Allah. They read the Qur’an, and perform the night prayer. During Ramadan, Muslims avoid many evil deeds that would invalidate their fasts and act of worship.

Hariyali Amavasya: A Photostory of the Tradition and Celebration

Hey friends. First and foremost I would like to extend my warm greetings on the occasion of our tradition and cultural day: Hariyali Amavasya.

Hariyali Amavas

As you all might know this year it is being celebrated the 30th and 31st of July, where the 31st will be restricted for the women only. This year saw a great crowd and joy in the fair, as well as the drizzle added to the energy and worked as a stressbuster, and kept the name Hariyali worth its sake. The crowd was huge, the excitement unmatched, all stalls were ready and loaded either with eatables, toys, fancy items, women’s items, etc. People were here with the traditional pupadis or the instrument horning them all the way, and not to forget, the day’s special Malpuas.

For those who were present at the event, and want to feel the same fun again, and also, who unfortunately missed the fair, here I bring you a photostory with some of my best clicks, for the first day at the Hariyali Amavasya fair. Let the pictures speak for themselves.:)
