A Doctor is regarded and worshiped as GOD by a common man, they are trusted by the people who hand over the lives of their near and dear ones on them and a doctor always tries his/her best to save the life of the patient in the operation theatre.

But, does this fact ALWAYS holds correct….???

Well this  fact has been proved as a myth by the resident doctors of M.B. Hospital when they behaved brutally with  a help seeking son who came to them so that his mother could be saved. According to the sources, a 45-year old woman, Indira Kanwar who resides in Banswara was admitted in M.B. Hospital from past few days. There was no complain by her for the first few days but on 8th July 9.30 p.m. she suddenly started feeling uneasy and reverted about this to her son Jitendra Singh Chauhan who is a guest faculty at CTAE. But when the son ran to seek help from the resident doctor on duty that time, to his sudden shock he was ignored for the first time,  he didn’t lose hope and tried the second time but this time also his efforts were in vain. When helpless, Jitendra tried raising his voice against this injustice, the doctors instead of attending the lady started quarreling with him and other doctors also came over and collectively started beating Jitendra. The son who came there to make his mother well again was brutally beaten and in the fight fractured his arm, fingers and also bruised his ear. The doctors also misbehaved with the guard who came to rescue and stop the fight. This also was not enough that the doctors started beating other relatives too including the ladies. In addition, On the top of it the media also became their target that night.

President of Lakecity Press Club, Mr. Akhtar Hussain and others lodged an FIR against the doctors at Hathipole Police Station.

However, the Police and media controlled the situation but it raises several question marks on our medical council which needs to be answered…..

The biggest question is does their conscience  allow them to perform such activities..??

Happenings like these create a huge setback in the minds of the patients and their relatives which creates a negative image for every doctor. We as the members of Team urge and request all the doctors to maintain their dignity and be calm and composed as they are kept in the place of God and they should respect that.

this seems to be a normal practice by the doctors, we treat them like Gods. Problem is they have started thinking they are Gods and have all the rights but no duties.
I’ve been through some of the mistreatment myself, specially in the M.B. hospital.
What we really need is tougher laws like in many western countries. When do you ever hear a doctor’s licence being cancelled here, whatever the crime they may have committed.
They should have the worse penalties given the kind of profession they are in.

    Dear All….
Sorry to all of you if your sentiments have been hurt.
Nearly 90% of Resident doctors in Udaipur have donated blood for patients in their wards when no relative is ready to do the same.

A resident in clinical branch works from morning 8 am. till 12 am in night everyday. and once a week for straight 36 hours without sleep.

Lakhs of patients get allright and discharged every year.

no media/ person highlghts these things.

people are polite most of the times…. But there are few people who behave rudely. I have seen my colleagues being manhandled for no fault of his last year. Police/ People do nothing after getting manhandled. If we do not go on strike no FIR is registered.

I agree that few residents may behave harshly….But .after staying awalke for 36- 48 hours straight ane eating in the wards nonorman person will have patience ..Please do not generalize things.

We would like to work in a system. But in our hospital there is nothing called system. Any person can misbehave or manhandle on duty residents. ( no one cares- what we here everytime is ” you are educated people…. You are considered GODS” )

Sorry if my statements have hurt any of your sentiments. What I am telling is the truth. Plaese stay with us for one week, You’l know under what conditions we work and hoe people behave with us.

Two wrongs donot make a thing right. While the working conditions in many Govt hospitals are horrible & pathetic, still it is difficult to justify the violence. Sometimes it is easier & simpler to say sorry & try to move on in life.

Another point:- Doctors are NOT Gods. The earlier our society realizes & accepts this fact, the better it is for everybody
.Doctors are as human as anybody else & can get tired, make mistakes, get upset & angry as rest of the human race. Doctors are just ordinary humans who have got some extra trained skills.
However violence is a complete no,no

I agree with you that violence is not the way. But what about resident doctors being man-handeled by patients attenders? Why is everyone of the opinion that its always the negligence of residents whenever any patient dies….

I dont say that all residents are 100% perfect. But i can assure you that most of them try their best with the limited resources available resources.

every now and then residents get man handled and everytime its labelled due to negligence of residents. No action is taken against them / sometimes FIR is also not registered.

Condemning violence must be on both sides. Who gave the public power to thrash, slap, abuse attending doctors?

I request all to show a way or a system stop violence against doctors too. Till date no action against a single culprit has been taken. avoording to law any member found to abuse / manhandle medical staff in a hospital is liable upto three years imprisonment. Show me one case in which this has happened.

If doctors are really considered equal to GOD why abuse/ thrash / slap/ manhandle them?

Treatment under medical science does not come with a warranty / guarantee. There are few diseases/ cases which are beyond the scope of science and will have disappointing results. Few among the public have failed to understand the same.

I should give some thanks to Mr Amir khan and his recent episode of Satyameva jayate. Those doctors who malpractice are continuing the same without any repents…. But the programme has definitely lessened the dignity of doctors dedicated to patients/ profession more surely dampened their working spirit.

@ Dr.Abhi: What do you sir want to say it is not evident from your message be specific, anyway we all want doctors must behave like doctors because in my personal life at Udaipur, I felt in so many incidence and ‘realized doctors negligence, irresponsible and amateur.
I am not blaming foe all and its for few of them are spoiling others sincerity and professionalism……
I mean to say that we all are having trust on doctors………..
