Schools in Rajasthan will not reopen from August 2

On 22 July 2021 an announcement came up to reopen the schools in Rajasthan for all the classes. Just a day after that, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has recalled the decision for now. Revoking these orders given by the Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra, CM has declared the decision on the same will be taken very soon. For this a committee of 5 ministers of the state will be setup and after that the decision for reopening of the schools will be made.

The committee will comprise of 5 prominent ministers i.e. Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra, Health Minister Raghu Sharma, Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria, Minister of State for Higher Education Bhanwar Singh Bhati and Minister of State for Technical Education Subhash Garg. This committee will not only decide when to open the school but also will figure out upto which class the school should be open.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also stated that for this, the Committee of Ministers will contact the Ministries of Health and Human Resources, Government of India, ICMR and with the states that have already decided to reopen the schools.

Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra had announced the opening of schools for children of all classes from August 2 after a cabinet meeting a day earlier on Thursday night itself. This decision faced a lot of opposition.

Taking in the view, the possibility of the 3rd wave of Covid-19, the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot completely reversed the announcement of the Education Minister by holding a virtual meeting on Friday night.
