Besides the aforementioned, the Winter Festival at Mount Abu or Mount Abu Festival also hosts sports and other entertainment activities like kite flying, boat rowing and some creative activities like poetry reading sessions and many more.

A noteworthy point about the festival is that it is the only festival in Rajasthan where cricket has been introduced as a part the festival.

The commencement and culmination of the Winter festival:

A lavish procession through the city marks the beginning of the Mount Abu Festival. It ends at the very famous Nakki Jheel with a ceremony in the evening called the Deepdan.

Sheesh Mahal overlooking Lake Pichola

udaipur

Jodhpur’s 24 Gigapixel Image: Zoom into the tiniest detail of the Blue City!

After Udaipur’s Gigapixel image, Pranshu Dubey has come up with an amazing and yet another mesmerizing image of the Blue City Jodhpur. This gigapixel image of Jodhpur is so sharp that you can even see people walking around, windows, panels and every tiny detail. The blue city looks tremendous with Umaid Bhawan standing tall and secluded with its majesty in the background.

[button-green url=”http://jodhpur.pixeldo.com/” target=”_self” position=”center”]Click Here to Visit Jodhpur 24 Gigapixel Image[/button-green]

It is truly hypnotizing!

All About Jodhpur’s Gigapixel Image

A gigapixel image is a digital image made up of one billion pixels, which is 1000 times the information captured by a 1-megapixel digital camera!!!

Advanced digital photography technique is what you can call this. Jodhpur’s Gigapixel is made from 351 individual 50-megapixel images which sum up to a total resolution of 24,000 megapixels or 24 gigapixels. (Okay! This is huge!!)

Wondering which camera was used to capture these images? These 351 images were shot on Canon 5ds 50-megapixels. This method of making a gigantic picture/image lies in the beauty and finesse of stitching the images (here 351 images). These images are stitched together to form a brilliant image that can be zoomed in and out!

The prime motive of Pranshu behind making these beautifully epic gigapixel images is to promote tourism in the state of Rajasthan. He is photographer specialized in areas of Aerial Photography, Panoramas and interior/exterior photography for hospitality and infrastructure.

How Jodhpur’s gigapixel is different than the Udaipur one?

The brand new thing about this Gigapixel image of Jodhpur is that one can zoom anywhere in the picture to watch extreme details and also take a photo of that particular place and share it with their friends.

The noteworthy thing is that we, Udaipurites are invited personally by the group of bikers, who are currently on a 37-day-long India tour. This is for the first time that invitation cards have been published to invite people from across the country to attend this fair. The bikers, who began their journey last month, have already visited states like West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat, inviting prominent persons, religious heads, devotees etc.

During their visit to Rajasthan, they have invited the religious heads at the Jagdish Temple and the entire Udaipur to attend this auspicious fair.

Gathering of people at Ambubashi Mela on Day 3 at Kamakhya Temple

Generally, tantriks, sadhus, Bauls, aghoras, sannyasinis, khade babas, foreign pilgrims, tourists or foreign scientists visit the Kamakhya temple, where the fair is held in the Nilachal hill, during the festival days. This time, this special bikers’ tour has been arranged by the Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. so that people can be handed over invitation cards and posters by the representatives from the state.

Know about Ambubachi Fair

The Ambubachi fair is held in Nilachal Hill at Kamakhya temple. Devotees flock to the city of Guwahati in Assam, to become a part of this annual ritual. The fair is devoted to the Mother Nature; apropos of a special reason- to celebrate the annual menstruation cycle (holy cycle) of the head deity of the temple, Devi Kamakhya. During this period, the temple is closed for 3-4 days to visitors, to maintain the privacy of the menstruating deity.

This year the festival is from June 22-26.

It is believed that every year, during the monsoon (Assamese month Ahaar), the Goddess goes through her annual menstruation. This concurs with the river Brahmaputra being in full flow because of monsoon rains.

According to the belief, during this period when the goddess is in her annual Holy cycle, the fertility of mother earth increases. In a practical sense too, the fertility increases as Assam receives heavy rains during this period as the monsoons arrive around this time and this leads to an increase in fertility of the soil. During this time the farmers also stop cultivating their land, as it is believed that it causes disturbance to the menstruating mother earth.

So are you ready to explore and attend this special fair at Assam?
