Shilpgram Utsav to begin from 21st December

The most colourful, vibrant and lively festival of Udaipur, Shilpgram Utsav, will begin from 21st December 2019 at Shilpgram, Udaipur. The 10-day long Cultural Fest of Udaipur will witness an amalgamation of culture, craft and food from around the country.

Also known as Shilpgram Mahotsav, the art and craft fair is organised by West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur. Like every year, this year also, the fair will have activities and events showing the cultural heritage of different states of India. The festival allows artists and craftsmen to showcase their art without any intermediary market.

The event will start at 10 AM and will be open till 10 PM.

Here is the schedule of the events:

21st to 23rd December 2019

Bai Mejei (Nagaland), Odissi Dance, Gotipua (Odisha), Sambhalpuri (Odisha), Cherraw (Mizoram), Manipuri Ras, Pung, Thangta, Stik (Manipur), Chhau (Jharkhand), Khol Vadan (West Bengal), Hojagiri (Tripura), Dhal Thungri, Bardoi Sikla and Folk Instruments (Assam).

24th to 26th December 2019

Bastar Folk Band (Chhattisgarh), Instrument Assemble (Andhra Pradesh), Bharat Natyam (Karnataka), Madhuri, Lambadi (Telangana), Lawani (Maharashtra), Gangaur (Madhya Pradesh), Veer Varai Natnam (Pudducherry), Pooja Kunitha (Karnataka), Malkhamb (Maharashtra).

27th and 28th December 2019

Kathak, Rauf (Jammu & Kashmir), Chhapeli (Uttarakhand), Jabro and Flower (Ladakh), Bhangra and Gidda (Punjab), Mayur (Rajasthan), Ghoomar (Haryana).

29th and 30th December 2019

Bhapang (Rajasthan), Kalbelia (Rajasthan), Bihu (Assam), Pung Cholam (Manipur), Stick (Manipur), Singari (Odisha), Bhagra+Gidda (Punjab), Mewasi (Gujarat), Natuwa (West Bengal), Chari (Rajasthan), Symphony and Classical Instrument Ensemble.

Besides, there will also be ‘Yuva Pratibha Puraskar Competition‘ on 22nd, 23rd and 24th December at Banjara Rangmanch. There will be food stalls serving the local cuisines of various states of the country.

All of these activities, events, performances along with the amazing food, make Shipgram, a must-visit place of Udaipur.

Cultural Festival Season begins in Lake City

The last month of the year is promising some amazing cultural fun to the people of lake city. The most awaited events of the city – Shilpgram Mahotsav and Flower Show will begin from 21st December and 25th December respectively. Along with this, the hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu will witness the fervour of Sharad Mahotsav from 29th to 31st December 2019.
