#1 Udaipur Celebrated Sagas Ji’s Janmotsav :

Devotees across Udaipur combined together on 9th August, 2013 to cherish and celebrate the janmotsav of Sagas Ji Bavji, a local deity. As per every year, this year too this auspicious event was attended by hundreds of Bavji’s devotees. The decorated Picholi temple witnessed queues of bavji hukum’s devotees all ready to cater their gratitude and convey the birthday wishes to the lord. The day began with the morning rituals and Bavji Hukum’s abhishek followed by a Mahabhog offered to him. Also artists invited from Ahemdabad carried our Ratri Jagran in name of the deity.

 

#2 Link Gates of Swaroop Sagar Opened :

The link gates connecting the swaroop sagar and Fatehsagar lakes have finally been opened. Udaipur witnessed 2.48 inch rainfall due to continuous rains in the last 24 hours. As a result, the link gates of Swaroop Sagar has been opened to facilitate the excessive flow to enter lake Fatehsagar, with this the water level in the lake has started rising. Swaroop Sagar’s water flow is about 4.5 Feet. As per the forecasting experts, Udaipur is assumed to witness heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours.

 

#3 Mr. Ashutosh Pednekar appointed as Udaipur’s New Collector :

Mr. Ashutosh Pednekar is our city’s new Collector. Mr. Pednekar, an IAS 2002 batch officer has previously served as the District Collector at Alwar, Boondi and Ganganagar. While addressing the media, Mr. Pednekar briefed up about his action list for the coming time, where he talked about focusing on the implementation of the flagship schemes of the CM, developing framework to cope with the increasing traffic problems. He also plans on development of tribal areas by developing the small scale and cottage industries.

 

#4 City’s Heritage Walk Inaugurated :

To promote tourism and avail nominal priced guided tour to the tourists, Udaipur’s first heritage walk was organized on 5th August, 2013. The Heritage Walk’s inauguration was done by Mr. G.S. Sandhu (Rajasthan State Government, Principal Secretary) along with Ms. Rajni Dangi (UMC, Mayor). The tour shall include a heritage walk in areas like Jagdish Chowk, City Palace Road, Baghore Ki Haveli, Bhattiyani Chauhatta, Gangaur Ghat  etc where  the tourists shall be briefed about these heritage points and will be provided with a guide book, a note pad and a jute bag. The charges for this tour are set as Rs.200 (all inclusive). This tour will be organized from 8 am-10 am and 5 pm-7 pm daily.
