Maha Curfew in Udaipur is a Rumour | 99% Cases Asymptomatic

After the rumour of “Maha Curfew” started spreading in the city, Udaipur District Collector Ms Anandhi along with SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi and CMHO Dinesh Kharadi held a press conference to clear the air and stop the panic.

On the concern of the rapid rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, the collector said that a large number of corona positive cases have come from the same locality and the remaining cases are also mostly the ones which have come in contact with these areas.

She appealed to the citizens to not panic. The administration is continuously doing the screening and sampling process. Everyone has to stay alert and follow the guidelines of the containment zone, she said.

The collector along with the SP and CMHO, was addressing the media people at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium here on Friday.

The collector said that to stop the further spread of the infection, the administration has declared the entire city as a containment zone. As per the protocol, continuous sampling is being done over the 100-meter area of ​​the infected area on the first day, then 500 meters and then up to 1 kilometre.

In such a situation, more cases might come up in the next two days after which the situation will tend to become normal in fifteen days.

Around 3700 samples have been taken in the last 8 days of which only 8 per cent have come out as positive.

The collector further clarified that no one will get any relaxation in the Containment Zone and Curfew Zone. The system that has been in place till now will remain the same.

During the press conference, SP Kailash Chandra Bishnoi said that strict curfew is in force in Dhanmandi, Ghantaghar Police Station area and in about one-third of Surajpole Police Station area. The SP also clarified that the rest of the municipal area is been declared as a containment zone.

He appealed to the people to remain in the homes.
