MB Hospital Nurse residing in New Bhupalpura reported positive for COVID-19

Udaipur Coronavirus Update

One more nursing staff from Udaipur’s MB Hospital was tested positive for coronavirus on Monday evening. The 55-year-old nurse is a resident of Panna Vihar Colony in New Bhupalpura area.

The nurse was working at Corona Suspect Ward at MB Hospital from March 28 till April 19. After that, she was home quarantined from 20th April.

The nurse is said to be asymptomatic i.e. showing no symptoms of the disease. Asymptomatic Coronavirus patient doesn’t show any visible symptoms of the disease. In such cases, very few are aware that they are infected and symptoms do not give away much.

The nurse was in contact with her 62-year-old husband who is a retired LT, her 4-year-old grandson and 6 other people. All are referred at MB Hospital’s SSB Block.

Udaipur Municipal Corporation has begun sanitization work in the area. Medical Department has made Containment Zone and begun the process of screening.

Following the report, the administration immediately imposed curfew in the infected area. The district collector has directed the medical department to start a screening survey of the people residing within 5 km of area.

Wearing mask in public places mandatory in Udaipur

In the midst of a coronavirus epidemic, the district administration on Friday made it mandatory for people to wear masks in public areas. Violation of the directive can lead to legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the order released by the district authorities in Udaipur, all persons in public places like streets, hospitals, markets, offices, etc must wear a 3-ply mask or cloth mask compulsorily. The order also states that any person who is moving around in his personal or official vehicle must be wearing these masks compulsorily.

Additionally, a person or officer will attend any meeting or go to the workplace wearing the facemasks.

States like UP and Odisha have already made the wearing of masks compulsory in the entire state. In fact, the Odisha Government has even instructed all petrol pumps across major cities to not dispense fuel to anyone who is not found wearing a mask.

An advisory from the health department recommends home-made cotton, double-layer reusable masks for use as the first line of protection. The health ministry has also released guidelines on the specifications for homemade masks.

Homemade face cover is a good way for maintaining personal hygiene and its usage would certainly help in maintaining overall hygienic health conditions.

Therefore, the advisory suggests the use of handmade reusable face cover for people who are not suffering from medical conditions or having breathing difficulties. These people must use this mask when they step out of their house.

However, the advisory does not recommend homemade masks for:

  • Health Workers
  • Those in contact with COVID-19 Patients
  • COVID-19 Patients

These categories of people are required to wear specified protective gear.

37 coaches to be converted into Isolation Ward for emergency in Udaipur

As the Railways has stopped operation since the lockdown, the coaches in the train have been converted into the isolation wards across the country. The Railway Department has taken this step seeing the increasing COVID-19 cases.

With the conversion of around 2,500 coaches in the entire country, the Railway has made 40,000 isolation beds ready for an emergency.

The different Railways Zones around the country first needs to first get the prototype of isolation ward approved. After the approval, these zones can take on the conversion exercise.

Around 375 coaches are being converted by Indian Railways in a day the work for which is being carried out at 133 locations in the country.

The North Western Railways was asked to convert a total of 266 coaches. Out of this, 37 coaches were allotted to Udaipur. These coaches are getting ready on the pit line of the city railway station.

The 37 coaches consist of 22 Sleeper coaches and 15 General Coaches which will have 1 medical room in each coach.

The middle berths of the non-AC sleeper compartments have been removed to convert the coaches into isolation cabins. All these cabins are being sanitised thoroughly. There are nine cabins in every coach out of which one is kept as a medical room for the nursing staff.

These isolation coaches are being prepared only for contingency and to supplement the efforts. The use of the cabins is yet to be finalised by the Ministry of Railways.

उदयपुर के अम्बामाता के कई इलाकों में कर्फ्यू

उदयपुर के मल्लातलाई में 15 साल का बच्चा कोरोना पॉज़िटिव आने के बाद प्रशासन ने उदयपुर के कई इलाकों में कर्फ्यू लगा दिया।

कुछ दिनों पहले इन्दौर से लौटा था और तब से पूरे परिवार को रखा गया था क्वॉरेंटाईन। गुरुवार को बच्चे के कोरोना पॉज़िटिव होने की पुख्ती होने पर प्रशासन ने अम्बामाता क्षेत्र में कर्फ्यू लगा दिया।

उदयपुर का पहला केस मिलने के बाद जिला प्रशासन से इसे गंभीरता से लेते हुए यह निर्णय किया है। केस के पॉजिटिव होने की रिपोर्ट आते ही, प्रशासनिक अमला और पुलिस अम्बामाता थाना क्षेत्र में उस जगह पर पहुंच गए और परिवार के घर के इलाके के साथ ही आस-पास के इलाकों में भी एहतियात के तौर पैर कर्फ्यू लगाने का निर्णय लिया।

बच्चा अपने परिवार के साथ 21 मार्च को इंदौर से उदयपुर लौटा था। वह तब से ही होम आइसोलेशन में है। बालक मल्लातलाई क्षेत्र का निवासी है।

जिला कलक्टर आनंदी ने कफ्र्यू लगाने के आदेश जारी किए है। मौके पर एडीएम सिटी संजय कुमार सहित बड़ी संख्या में अफसर व पुलिस तैनात है।

इन सभी क्षेत्रों में धारा 144 दंड प्रक्रिया सहित लागू कर दी। आदेश 16 अप्रेल तक लागू रहेगा। आदेश के अनुसार इन इलाको में न कोई अपने घर से बाहर नहीं निकल सकता है और न ही दुकान खुलेगी।

कोरोना के चलते, बाहरी लोगो के शहर में प्रवेश पर रोक लगाई जा रही है। सरकार के निर्देश पर सोमवार को सभी जिलों की सिमाएं सील कर दी गयी। गुजरात और महाराष्ट्र से वाहनों में या पैदल घर जाने वाले लोगों को डबोक, मावली और फ़तहनगर के स्कूल और काॅलेजों में होम आईसोलशन के लिए रुकवाया जा रहा है।

इसके लिए सारे जिलों के सबडिविजन अफसरों को निर्देश दिए गए हैं जिसके तहत बाहरी लोगो के शहर में प्रवेश से पहले सरकार द्वारा अधिकृत किये गए डबोक, मावली, फ़तहनगर और अन्य स्कूल, कॉलेजों में होम आइसोलेशन रखा जायेगा। इन सभी जगहों पर लोगों के रहने, भोजन, पानी की व्यवस्था की जा रही है।

होम क्वारेंटाइन के लिए गीतांजलि कॉलेज डबोक, मावली के जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय, मॉडल स्कूल, कस्तूरबा गांधी आवासीय विद्यालय, अंबेडकर छात्रावास और विद्या निकेतन स्कूल फतहनगर अधिकृत किये गए हैं।

मावली क्षेत्र में आने वाले लोगों को होम क्वारेंटाइन करने की प्रक्रिया सोमवार शाम को ही शुरू कर दी गई है। अब तक गीतांजलि कॉलेज में 100 से अधिक तथा फतहनगर के विद्या निकेतन स्कूल में 150 लोगों को होम क्वारेंटाइन किया जा चुका है। इन सभी जगहों पर कर्मचारियों को तैनात किया है।

होम क्वारेंटाइन के लिए इन स्कूलों और कॉलेजों के कमरों में रहने, सोने, भोजन और पानी की व्यवस्था की गई है। उनके खाने के लिए कॉलेज के मैस के अलावा स्वयंसेवी संस्थाओं और संबंधित पंचायतों को व्यवसस्था का ज़िम्मा दिया गया है। क्वारेंटाइन के दौरान इन सभी लोगों को अगले 14 दिन तक इन्हीं जगहों पर रहना होगा।
