Bird Festival to be held in the city from 9 – 12 January 2020

The Wildlife Wing of State Forest Department along with the Department of Tourism is organising a three-day Bird Festival in January 2020. This will be the sixth edition of the fair which the departments have been organising in order to boost eco-tourism and allow the bird watchers and environment enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful sight of both resident and migratory birds.

The festival will have activities including Bird Race (bird count), Photography and Stamp Exhibition, Spot Painting and Quiz Competition, Nature Literature Festival, and Workshop on Wildlife Photography.

For the Bird Race this year, bird lovers from Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Chittorgarh and Rajsamand can also participate. The teams from the above regions will spot the birds in their respective region and report at Udaipur.

The inaugural ceremony will be held on 10th January at Jungle Safari Park where Bird, Butterfly and Stamp Exhibitions will be held.

The registration fee to participate in the Bird Race is Rs. 500. The forms for registration are available on the Udaipur Bird Festival website.

Please note, the last date of registration is 30th December 2019.

Udaipur Nature Literature Festival

As a part of the 3-day long Udaipur Bird Festival, the Forest Department is also organising Udaipur Nature Literature Festival (UNLF) for the second time in a row. UNLF will be held on 10th January and will have a visitor from across the country.

The festival is being organised with a vision to promote wildlife in the region and create awareness amongst the masses. The Forest Department may organise a run on 10th January as part of awareness drive.
