CPT COACHING : CURE OR CHAOS ?

In the recently concluded National Seminar of Chartered Accountants in Udaipur  the ICAI President Mr Amarjit Chopra suggested that CPT exam willl be modeled on IIT-JEE pattern. This has brought in limelight the issue of rapidly expanding coaching industry in Udaipur. The coaching institutes are making CRORES by encashing the students’ innocence (or ignorance?) regarding the CPT exam which is the 1st step to the evergreen glamorous proffesion of Chartered Accountancy.
Several experts sincerely believe that CPT is a “Basic Level” Test and not a brain boiling,soul-scorching wrangler like IIT-JEE or AIIMS examinations.
It has 4 parts

  1. Accounting ,60 marks
  2. Economics 50 marks
  3. Mercantile Law 40 marks
  4. Quantitative Techniques( Maths+Stats) 50 marks

All these are thoroughly covered in the syllabus of  Class XI and XII. A non-maths background student can easily prepare the Quantitative Techniques part with the ICAI study material as it contains a plenty of illustrations cutting across all difficulty levels.
One has to score only 100/200 marks in order to pass the test and continue the journey to becoming a CA.
There are  200 questions which test the basic primary grasp of an aspirant. Any average commerce student who has passed Class XII in one go can easily prepare for the test only by referring to the ICAI study material. There is no need even to look in the direction of any coaching institute.

THE BIGGEST DRAWBACK :

Biggest Drawback of these institutes is that they suck off the stamina and energy of the students rendering them unfit for preparing well at home. The tiring schedules of coaching institutes make the CPT aspirant’s life hectic and leave them with too little time for recreation and revision.   Several seasoned Examiners and faculty members believe that many students fail to pass the CPT only because they attend coaching classes!

CONCLUSION :

The coaching institutes are completely useless so far as CPT is concerned. A thorough study of ICAI study material is more than enough to score good marks. Just keep confidence , have full faith in the ICAI study material and dont throw away your precious 15000 bucks to the coaching classes.

May you have the Best of Luck and now what are you waiting for ? Take out the books and  GET,SET…GO !!!

Places to Visit

Sunset Point in Udaipur

The sunset point is the paramount place to see the most beautiful face of Udaipur. This garden is famous for its excellent view to the dusk and the weakly musical fountain show. This show is held every Monday after the twilight. Its located at the southeastern part of Pichola lake by the side of Dudh Talai and ahead of M.L. Verma park. Before the garden there is a ropeway which lands us to Karnimata temple giving an tremendous outlook of the city. This is one of the most frequently visited gardens of Udaipur. It’s a pleasure to our eyes when we perceive the diffused light from the sky during the early evening when the sun is below the horizon and its light is refracted by the earth’s atmosphere. We ublogers advice every visitor to go there and enjoy the intense red and orange hues of the sky at sunset with the fountain dancing on music.

Udaipur History

Udaipur’s history began with the construction of the Nouchouki palace on the banks of a pond dug by a gypsy in the 15th century. Udai Singh extended this pond and dug a massive manmade lake and christened it Pichola after a tiny village Picholi, located close by.

A suryavanshi and a descendant of the Sisodia Rajputs who are the oldest ruling family in the world with a traceable history of over 26 generations, Maharana Udai Singh created a dream city that is an oasis with lakes, wildlife, flora and fauna in the midst of desert Rajasthan.

According to common legend the city of lakes or Udaipur was established by Maharana Udai Singhji after he was advised by a hermit to do so. It is believed that Udai Singhji was on one of his hunting tours when he had an encounter with a meditating hermit on the banks of the Lake Pichola who inspired him to establish the city of Udaipur in the midst of a valley surrounded by the Aravali hills and ornamented with three massive lakes. The royal Sisodia’s reigned supreme in Udaipur that became the capital city of the state of Mewar after the fall of Chittorgarh. Sisodia’s are believed to be the oldest ruling family in Rajasthan and can trace their lineage for more than 67 generations.

Udaipur is quite like a fairy tale destination with its pure marble forts and palaces, lakes, pavilions and gardens. A favorite haunt with newly weds, Udaipur is soaked in a dreamy romantic mist that is full of sweet promises.

The land of the brave Rana Pratap and Rana Sanga, Udaipur has seen many a battle that was fought for the valor and pride of the proud Sisodia Rajputs. Several women from the royal house of Mewar were married of to Mughal rulers for promoting political relations.

After the death of Udai Singh, his valiant son Maharana Pratap took over the royal throne and was engaged in constant power skirmishes with the Mughals with an aim to recapture the erstwhile capital of Mewar, Chittor.

A landmark in the history of Udaipur, the fierce battle of Haldighati was fought in between Akbar and Maharana Pratap. Till date you can see a delightful shrine that was constructed in the memory of Chetak, Maharana Pratap’s beloved horse, who in spite of suffering fatal injuries had brought its master to safety from the battlefield.
