#1 Swaroop Sagar Flushes Out The Dirty Water :

Udaipur witnessed a subsequently good amount of rainfall in its catchment area over the last few days, as a result the water levels of the lakes have started rising. In order to get ready for the forthcoming ‘Good Monsoon’, the irrigation department opened all the four gates of Swaroop Sagar by 4 inches for a short period of time. The opening of gates was a measure for clearing out the dirty water. The water level at Lake Pichola and Lake Udai Sagar continues to rise, due to the good inlet flow from their feeders.

 

#2 Female Surgeon Arrested for Taking Rs.4000 bribe :

The Anti Corruption Bureau arrested Dr. Anjali Seth (Surgeon and Asst. Prof, RNT Medical College) for demanding a Rs. 4000 bribe for conducting an operation. Dr. Seth served at MB Hospital on a contract basis and was also due to join the hospital on permanent basis. Dr. Anjali operated a person in May,2013. The patient’s relative when told Dr. Anjali regarding the patient’s present problems and asked her to look over the case for some better treatment, Dr. Seth demanded Rs 4000. Later the ACB after receiving this complaint raided the doctor’s residence and arrested her.

 

 #3 Web Radio To be Launched By MLSU :

In order to make the students practically sound, Mohan Lal Sukhadia University’s Journalism dept. shall launch the University’s Web Radio from the forthcoming session. The radio shall have a limited duration telecast, however the telecast can be later accessed through the record section. The radio shall enlighten its listeners with interviews of professors, university related information, GK etc. Prof. I.V Trivedi expressed his happiness and pride on this initiative by the University, and promised the help and support to the Journalism Department. It is noticeable that MLSU will be the first University in Rajasthan to facilitate the students with a Web Radio.

 

 #4 St. Paul’s Celebrated its 60th Anniversary :

St Paul’s Sr. Sec. School celebrated its 60th anniversary on 16th July,2013. The celebration included cultural program, cake cutting ceremony and honoring the students with outstanding performances. The program witnessed Bishop Devprasad Ganava (President, CDISU) as the chief guest. Apart from the cultural performances, the day also witnessed the selection and announcement of the chosen Head Boys,  Captains, Vice-Captains and the Heads of cultural, sports, language, health and discipline committees.
