Udaipur to lead the way for Arunachal Pradesh’s Itanagar for Smart City Implementation

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has decided to pair the 20 best performing smart cities as ‘sister cities’ with the poorly performing 20 smart cities.

Udaipur will take Itanagar under its guidance. The sister city Udaipur will have 100-day to help the under-performing Itanagar improve its ranks and performance.

Top-20 Smart Cities

The 20 best performing cities according to internal ranking are – Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Ranchi, Udaipur, Nagpur,  Bhopal, Surat, Kanpur, Visakhapatnam, Vellore, Tiruppur, Vadodara, Nashik, Agra, Dehradun, Davanagere, Kota, Pune, Indore, and Amravati.

Smart City 20-20 Formula

The program of pairing the best performing cities with poorly or under-performing cities has been given the name 20-20 Formula and the pair of two cities are called ‘Sister Cities‘.

Just like Udaipur is paired with Itanagar, similarly, Varanasi has been paired with Amritsar, Surat with Sharanpur and Visakhapatnam is paired with Diu to improve the performance of poorly performing cities. The capital of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal has been appointed guide Aizwal, Mizoram’s capital city.

According to the 20-20 formula, the ‘sister cities’ have been given a hundred-day challenge to help their respective partners in improving the ranks.

But is our ‘Smart City’ Udaipur, really smart enough to lead the way for Itanagar for Smart City Implementation?

Let’s see how Udaipur takes up this challenge!!!
